My Bailey is also "long and lanky". He's a big boy(9" at the shoulder") I also thought he looked like a cross with a dachshund.

My little one was cute and square ar 12 weeks. At about 4-5 months she grew really long. Legs shorter. Now at 7 months, 4.4lbs is 7 inch tall but 9 inch long. I think she developed some of the genes of the dogs she was raised with. Forgot there breed name but they look like a hotdog dogs. All in all, love her so much.

My now passed girl was a big girl weighing in at 17 lbs of sleek long body. I don't worry about size of my yorkies, a yorkie is a yorkie no matter how big or small they are. Size does not affect their personalities. Love her for the dog that she is.
