All of the off-color Yorkies I have seen have the coat you all describe. It is not a standard texture from all that I read. My little choc guy has that same coat and I am strongly considering having him neutered and placed in a pet home. He is small and has a cute personality, but I just cannot convince myself that he is breed quality..
Would someone let me know where to find reliable info on the benefit of using the red-leggged Yorkie in a breeding program. Thanx.

I bet thats what my elle is too!! AWWW poor girl... She is almost 4 months old and he hair on her legs and face a VERY slow growing...he back is fine but everywhere else...VERY slow..

My Dylan is a red legged yorkie also. I have attached current pictures of him. He is 8 mths old now. How much does elle weigh?

I'm certainly no expert (!!!), but she doesn't look like any of the pics of redleg yorkies that I've seen. Their coats always look much thinner to me, and the hair on the legs, especially, is sparse and scraggly, and (from what I understand) will never grow out.

Her hair might be slow-growing, but she certainly is a beautiful girl!

There are NO different types of Yorkie's the only difference is Color and coat quality - silky or wooly hair texture......some Yorkie's hair grows faster or slower than others? I have seen a bright RED/ORANGE (literally) & BLACK colored one in person and it was very odd looking she claimed she purchased it from a Pet Store locally. It looked nothing like the pic's you guys posted. in fact I have only seen that one, it's not a very common color at all. But from what I know they are not any different than any other Yorkie?

Here are a couple pictures of my Elle. The last one is the most recent. Actually I just snapped it a few minutes ago. I talked to my breeder and sent her a few photos and she said it is normal at her age (almost 3 months) to have sparse hair on her muzzle and legs. I just thought I would get your opinion.

I would consider her a red leg. Here's a pic of another red leg I met a few months ago.. I would like to know what produces this, it seems to come from perfectly normal coated parents.

She just has a very very slow growing coat, I don't think she's a red leg.

I don't have a red legged yorkie but, here is a picture of a friends of mine. He is about 8 or 9 years old. His name is Rudy my husband fell in love with him.
