| Hi, I'm here in KS.....Hillsboro to be exact. Your babies are so cute playing with each other. Actually don't know of anyone here in KS who sells Yorkies that aren't byb's that I see advertising in the Wichita Eagle. Some of the adds are from horrible places. Mary's Pet Store in McPherson is a horrible place. Then, of course, there is PetLand. Ugh! Another horrible place is a farm store located by the outlet mall between Newton and Wichita. They get all their dogs from millers. I didn't know that they sold puppies until I went in there with my daughter. We both left crying. It was horrible to watch all those puppies in one single pen, the larger ones torturing the tinies. Terrible, terrible. I used to go to a pet supply store in Newton called Pet World. They just had supplies and a couple birds, fish, and hamsters. Then they moved to a new location and are now selling puppies. Puppies as young as 6 wks. I had a fit and have never been back. Now I have to go to Wichita for my supplies. There's a wonderful shop close to New Market Square on the west side of Wichita. They have been working with me to try and find a kibble that my Pommie can eat. Appreciate their help. Absolutely loved the video. You have such a wonderful caring attitude. Need more people like you in this world......not because you give your babies to friends, but just because of the love I hear in your words. If you ever need a home for one of your babies, my arms are wide open. ![]() ![]() ![]() ~Joanne~

| I just wanted to thank all of you members that posted such nice comments regarding the little video I submitted yesterday. Unfortunately, I did receive one private message that really upset me. I have posted it on the open forum and also on this post because I wanted to tell all of you who took the time to say positive things about the video how very much I appreciate it. __________________________________________________ _______________ Very upset with a message from a YT member! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- If anyone would take the time to review the posts I have submitted on this site, they would see that I have always thanked and complimented the YT members for their assistance, compassion, caring and for taking the time to answer all of my questions and concerns - or simply for taking the time to give me positive feedback on the little videos or pictures I have posted of my Bella and her babies - - until yesterday. This site is so important to me that I became a donating member - I appreciate being able to have a site such as this one. I posted a little video of my Bella and two of her puppies that we are taking care of while their new parents are on vacation. I just posted it yesterday afternoon and have already received nine glowing comments and another private message complimenting my post. Unfortunately, I did receive another private message that was just absolutely insulting to me as an animal lover and caretaker. I responded to this member's private message, but all night last night, it still bothered me. I decided to post his message and my response in this open forum (though I crossed out his name - using better judgment than he did when he judged me). By posting these messages on the open forum, I am not asking for any responses or support. I did not feel as though I needed to justify anything. For the record only, I want people to know that judging someone unfairly can truly hurt the one being judged. I thank you for letting me vent. I have pasted his initial message to me and my response below: __________________________________________________ ______________ Originally Posted by XXXXXXX I'm sure mommy was glad to see how big her babies had gotten. John __________________________________________________ ______________ John, Thank you for taking the time to voice your concern regarding my care of my animals. I have 19 animals and live out in the country. Most of them were abused, neglected and dumped - obviously, not my Yorkie. I have taken each one in, immediately taken them to the vet, and they all receive unconditional love, security, continuous vet care, shelter, and above all, every one of them is like one of my children. We have spent thousands of dollars for care and maintenance for animals that others just threw away as if they were trash. My college-aged daughter and I helped Bella deliver her four pups and I took care of them for eight weeks without incident. Since I am semi-retired from the legal profession, I am at home most of the time. My home is absolutely safe for animals and/or small children. I am and always have been very safety conscious under all circumstances. I viewed the video again and watched the part that you were concerned about. Since you have never been in my home, you would not know that the table you referred to weighs about 300 pounds and was custom-made with our animals in mind. The tiles will not break, nor are they a safety hazard to animals or people alike. I am assuming since you have not been here, you were not able to notice the distance between the couch and the table. It is of a distance that when our little animals or large animals either jump from the floor to the couch or vice versa, they will not be injured, nor has any such injury ever occurred. You suggested I look into "this." There is no need as I pride myself on taking excellent care of my animals as well as loving them like my children. Lastly, you signed off as "just worried Yorkie Owner." I suggest you choose someone else to criticize or perhaps choose a cause that people really need to worry about. Better yet, perhaps you should go to an animal shelter and worry about getting homes for those forgotten and lonely animals who never asked for their plight. Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns. I hope my response will adequately put your worries about my animals to rest. Sincerely, Someone Who Cares

| I don't think he was being rude, it is just hard to know what tone someone is using in text since you can't see facial expressions and body language. We had the same issue, I just got a leather outtoman (sp?) to replace my coffee table because of the same concern I had for my babies. They love to chase and bounce the same as I see in your video and I would just die if one suffered any kind of trauma because of an accident. Before I had a table similar to yours and now it is outside on my back patio and looks great holding plants! It is still around just not in such close proximity to where my babies play. Now I understand that people just don't go out and buy new furniture for the sake of thier pets (although it is an awesome excuse ) but maybe just remove the table from the area?

| I have just had a look at your puppies, Oh what cute little babies!!! They look so healthy and full of vitality!!! My little boy, Denzil, aged 9 months has just had an operation for bi-lateral Perthes disease and I can't wait until his coat grows back and he looks 100% well again (he is running around like a madman, despite only having his surgery last week) All the best to you and your lovely little poochie-family, Tracy xx Last edited by Tracyb723; 02-24-2009 at 08:53 AM. | Leave my sister alone. Her animals are better cared for than millions of the children in this country. She's married to a man who doles out grocery money and gas money depending on what HE wants to eat and how far HE thinks she'll need to drive while he's out of town. God forbid there should be an emergency. What do you suppose would happen if he came home from one of his business trips and discovered that she had replaced the stone coffee table with a Sponge Bob SmartyPants (or whatever his name is) coffee table for the dogs? I'd be out there digging up the land, looking for my little sister's body. So maybe you ought to back off. She takes care of those animals and loves them like her children because her daughters are gone and she has no one else with whom to share her love. Seriously people, find something better to do. You know what they say, "Judge not lest ye be judged." |

| medoohsa, Your sisters dogs do look very well cared for, no one was insinuating otherwise. I think "John" was just trying to point out a potential danger so your sister could avoid a tragedy. Do you think that his Private Message could have to do with an event that he might have had to live through? Could it be that he is trying to spare someone the heart break of losing a pup to an accident? Before you get harsh with him or the people defending him, try to understand where he is coming from. In NO WAY was your sister being singled out for criticism and still is not for the care of her animals. Now posting someone else's Private Message I think she wanted to get responses, why else would she have posted? Your sister does not have to replace the table, or move it, it is her home to do with as she pleases.

I thank her and love her for her support. I'll be taking care of her puppy on March 10th while she recovers from surgery. Needless to say, she has been to my home on many occasions and still has chosen to leave her little puppy with me.It's rather refreshing to read a rational response - but I do enjoy a spirited debate, especially when I take the unpopular position. I must say I am surprised that anyone responded since I indicated I wasn't looking for any feedback. But I thank all of you who voiced your opinions. I suppose being in the legal profession for 30 years now, I just assume people base their accusations on facts and not what they view for a few seconds. As I told John, if he had any concern, there are many, many good causes he could involve himself in. Having had a four pound poodle for 14 years until I had to put her down because she was dying of cancer, I do know that any small animal can injure themselves in countless ways. We all take that risk when we become owners of small animals. Having said that, as has been heard many, many times - any of us could walk across the street today and get run down by a bus. We obviously cannot live in a bubble our whole lives. As to the question of posting private messages, my position would be that the message was sent to me and I would assume I have the right to post it wherever I care to. I am just curious as to why he would have sent it in a private message instead of posting it along with all of the positive feedback I received where not one person who posted such nice things brought up the terribly dangerous situation that they saw in the video. Lastly, my friend who left her puppies with me for seven days has been to my home many, many times with her pups. My question is: do you think she would actually leave her puppies somewhere that she felt they would be in harm's way? She never voiced any "concern" and those little pups are her babies since she has no children of her own. Again, I appreciate all of you taking the time to respond.
