I Everyone!

I just joined after reading such great information on whelping. My Yorkie is 58 days today (Friday), and we are very excited, yet nervous. She is 9 1/2 years old, and this was not a planned pregnancy, although very much wanted. Our neighbor's Yorkie got out of the house, and she was in our front yard going potty. I had her on the tie out front and he came to visit her, the minute I came inside!

We have had an x-ray and sono, and they show two puppies, one of the breech.

I am just glad to be here, b/c I know I will need lots of help and advice. I have researched and read endlessly about whelping, but I know there is lots of good info on this site. :)

I don't think you can upload pictures to your signature. You only have limited space there. You can fit three lines of text/smilies.

Welcome to YT! You may want to post a new thread in the breeder's section. I hope everything goes well for you and your girl! Hoping for a safe and easy whelp!

And i have a big question... How do i get rid of the sticky seeds from the grass cause my Chewy got them all over and i dont want him to be shaved:( as i am trying to grow his hair... can some one help me?

Joey got some of those dried out little burrs in his hair. and I used Cowboy magic detangler to work them out. I imagine you could use a good hair conditioner to get them out. I followed your advise and i used my daughters loreal kids detangler and a small comb and of course loooooots of patience and it worked :D and of course after that i gave him a bath with his shampoo and conditioner and dry his hair comb it and like a good puppy he got hungry, i fed him and now he is asleep :aimeeyorkZZzzzZZzzzzz.... lol hope it never happens again...

Great, I'll bet you feel like falling asleep too, you have to be so patient, or you can really hurt them. The stickers can turn into a mat, if you ignore them. We found that certain times of the year they are really bad, so we try to learn which areas to avoid on our walks. Giving them a quick check over after walks helps; the sooner you get them out, the easier they are to remove.

First take look at the index page and see which forum your question would best be answered. YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community. If you just want to introduce yourself and your dog, the General Forum is great for that. It is right on the top of the page (Under The Yorkie Talk banner) it says "Donations".

Can you delete a thread?
 
I am just wondering if I can delete a thread I've posted? I've gotten plenty of suggestions and basically don't really plan to check the thread anymore. Is there a way to delete it?

No, but you can keep it from going to your inbox by clicking on "Unsubscribe". If a thread has gotten nasty and it annoying you, you can PM admin to close it, and no one else will be allowed to post, but this isn't really necessary they generally die out on their own. I don't think they delete a thread except under special circumstances. Many others might read your question, and find the answers useful.

Sure, toward the top of the page, on the left hand side you should see the words, "User CP" click on that, and, it will show your more recent subscribed threads that have new posts. On the left hand side of the page, you will see the words, "Subscribed threads" and List subscription" you can then see all your subscribed threads.

Hi All,

Thank you so much for this thread. This is my first post! I am so happy to be posting on here. My fiancee and I are getting married on July 3 and as soon as we get back we are going to get a yorkie. Its going to be our wedding gift to each other.

We already found a little girl that is beyond precious and she has the perfect temperment for us... I was wondering if you could offer any advice? I read that we should check under her hair to see the color of her skin to make sure she is healthy and also to check the inside of her ears. We will be doing this the next time we see her.

We were planning on buying a crate and a pen for her. Can anyone reccomend any or sizes? Are there things we should be looking out for or need to know?

This thread tries to answer questions, like "how do I use the forum." Do you know how to post a new thread?

Click on "User CP" and then "View All Subscriptions" - you should see your thread here.

Go to your profile page and click on "View all albums". You can create a new album here, or select one that you already have. Then click on "Upload Pictures" and they will be stored in your album. For profile images, make sure your album is set to "proflie". You can do this when you create a new one.

grooming help
 
I'd like to learn how to groom my yorkie at home. What equipment do I need to start with? I already wash and brush Poco and trim his nails. But I'd like to give his hair some style. I'm just cutting with scissors right now but he just looks like a dog. I'd like to do it right so he actually looks like a yorkie LOL! What kind of cutters do I need? And also, he's not the type to sit still for too long so how do I control him? Do I really need to get all those tables, and head-holding-bar thing and such?? I'm on a tight budget..
