I don't believe that's included. The bill is for "invasive" procedures, like debarking a dog, doing c-sections etcetera.

"A person commits a summary offense if the person docks, cuts off, causes or procures the docking or cutting off of the tail of a dog over five days old."

So if a breeder does this within 5 days after birth, it's ok.

The tail dogging can be a touchy subject amongst breeders. I have seen more of my yorkie puppies squeal in pain from competent vets and swore one day I would learn this technique myself. Maybe some day, down the road they will outlaw tail docking and ear cropping as they have already done so in Germany.

Thank you for this post!! Sounds like a good bill for a change. I dont know why anyone would wait over 5 days to dock or remove dews anyway unless the puppy was not thriving well and then I would want a vet to look at the pup.

Thanks!! I have known of alot of vets that have their vet techs/staff do c-sections and de-barking also. Will that be addressed also?
