| Need some advice hello I'm new to this forum and I juss wanted to introduce myself my name is jennifer and I am looking forward to sharing and reading information on these wonderful animals I personally never owned a yorkie but I am looking forward to in 2 and a half weeks his name will be Armani and I got him from a good breeder in del. He is 2 months 3 weeks and only weighs 1 pound 5 ounces my breeder said he should be around 2-3 pounds not that it matters because I would love him @ any weight but my problem is that I'm scared he might just be to small that he might pass away at any moment it is kinda scary but I am exited waiting for him to come home does anyone own a dog with the same weight I would love for some advise so I can be prepared to show my pup a wonderful life |

| Welcome to YT! Since your pup is so tiny, might I suggest that you attach a bell to his harness. I found it helpful so that I could always tell where Lola was. It also helps prevent them getting stepped on. They are so fast. Also keep some Nutrical on hand. Congrats on your new baby! |

| The thing with a new puppy that small is that his nutrition and long term health can be affected if the transition from house to house with all that comes with it is not a smooth one Not that you won't be taking good care of him But at that weight new stresses .... if he becomes finicky about eating his blood sugar can take a dive and That's what is dangerous

My furkids Donating Member | when I brought Sadie home we did the "puppy shuffle". We would shuffle our feet instead of picking up our feet and walking. This way if she ran around our feet we wouldn't step on her...She did get a little push every once in a while but, at least wasn't stepped on.
