The thing with a new puppy that small is that his nutrition and long term health can be affected if the transition from house to house with all that comes with it is not a smooth one
Not that you won't be taking good care of him
But at that weight new stresses .... if he becomes finicky about eating
his blood sugar can take a dive and That's what is dangerous
