Im very sorry you were the victim of such an ill mannered snob...not all tiny yorkie owners are like that! I'm always overjoyed when i spot another yorkie..whatever shape or size they are..im just a big fan of this wonderful breed.

And I just want to say that not all the tinies are underweight or unhealthy..

I hate people like that, around here you've got a teacup chihuahua if it's anywhere in the breed specs. and you've got a standard if it's 11 pounds. LOL

I am sorry you had a bad experience, but why let such an ignorant comment upset you and spoil your outting. What difference does it make what this person thinks or says. Unless you are showing, selling or soliciting a critique, then it doesn't matter. Learn to hold your head proudly and smile at mean hurtful people. Your babies are "perfect" for you and that's what counts.

some people just don't have a clue how to behave!!!! we all need to be nice to each other!!!!

wow it really amazes me how people can be sooooo rude. shes just a bicth!!!! I don't care how big holly gets I love her NO MATTER WHAT!!! TAKE CARE Patti and ms holly 4pounds and growing!!

So which Petsmart were you at when this happened? I live near the Orland Hills, IL Petsmart and about 18 months ago some woman did almost the exact same thing to me. He little guy was names Barkley and was about the same size and cute as could be. I only had Pebbles for a only a few weeks and was a proud new mommy of my future teapot. She was already about 6 or 7 lbs of yorkie love. I stopped and told her how cute her little guy was ad her response was to not only TELL me the breed standard, she informed me that Pebbles was a mix because she was way too large and that her little guy was a pure breed that she purchased at PETLAND!

So much for breed standard blah, blah, blah.

Wish I would have had been more informed at the time because I would have given a little reverse schooling but instead she just made me and Pebbles feel inferior

Now today after all of these months on YT and 3 rescues plus volunteering I would have had to give her a little education back.

This also happened to me last Saturday...at Petsmart! Two ladies made a b -line to Zoey and I..... to let me know how BIG Zoey was and how SMALL their two Yorkies were. I replied "Yeah, she is HUGE, isn't she 7lbs is definetly HUGE!!" I laughed and continued shopping!! Some people just are CLUELESS!!

sorry for you and your lil ones....Roxy is between 4-5 lbs and after being spayed recently my vet said she's perfect size......if someone said that to me I probably would have said yep......she's a Rotty!!!!....lol

Can't people just understand that we love our yorkies and to be so condesending is hurtful. You can't let it get to you because you will find people like that where ever you go but I really wouldn't mind if her tiny one grew to 30 lbs

i agree, but maybe those of us who have a bigger yorkie, could think up a suitable (and maybe ever so slightly sarcastic) response, so we are always prepared, and can get our own back!!

Biggie is 9 pounds and I get stupid remarks sometimes from dog owners in general about how big he is and I get questioned if he truly is a pure breed Yorkie. People don't know that when Yorkies were first bred they were almost twice the size they are now. Small or big...who cares!

and a very well socialized pitbulls?? wow!!! ive seen pitbulls that are nice to humans but to smaller animals theyre mean and not friendly

i've never encountered and rudness twd mickey, but my mom was telling me that when she came to pick me up at the airport back in august, this lady had a little yorkie girl. my mom said it was the cutest thing in the world then started comparing her to mickey! she's like oh mickey's hair's too light and he's too big and i think his snout is big too! then told me that this lady spent $3000 on her girl and only weighted 3lbs or something.

then i told her that mickey's hair's light cuz he's 13, and his snout is not big (it really isn't, its the perfect size for his body) and mickey is just as pure yorkie as that small little one. and just like people, yorkies come in different looks, shapes and size. then i told her that i'm 100% korean but i look like i'm mixed and barely have any korean traits cept for my hair and my skin tone. then my mom went on and on about how she'd wish mickey were more like the girl dog

The little ones seem get constant critiscm too..people can be so negative about them..I get pretty tired of it sometimes to be honest

..either they are too small, delicate, underweight or unhealthy..get called Rats and Runts..or just get pointed at and laughed at in the street! I don't know if it is a jealousy thing or not..but some people can be downright nasty in my opinion..

All I know is, is that my girl is NONE of those things...shes a very happy and healthy little girl despite her petite size..
