Sophie has no health problems at all she has regular checkups with the vet and is the ideal size for a breeding female. There are no health problems in her genetic history either, my family and I have raised Labs for a very long time so I know the things to check for when considering breeding. The only thing I was wondering about was her color because it is simply different from most Yorkies.

Based on these photos I think my 4 month old has a soft coat. He's my first yorkie. He's a sweetie pie.

My yorkie is 15 weeks and weighs in at 5.8 lbs. How much will he weigh fully grown? I don't understand how to use the growth chart.

My boy just weighed in at 5.4 pounds at 13 weeks!

Aw, thanks. But you are wrong. My Max is 13 weeks and yours is 15. I'll let you know what he weighs at 15 weeks!

Ok, so I've been reading these posts after I looked over the growth chart and I'm worried... my Gambit is only 9 weeks old and he weighs 4lbs already. I got him here in Japan, he wasn't even the biggest of the litter- they were all about the same size, and I'm waiting for his JKC papers to get here in the mail but is there some way he might have some other breed in him? Oris it just the luck of the draw that I got a giant Yorkie? Haha

After reading the first page of posts about coats I'm a bit concerned as Teddi approaches 5 mos. I am posting his pic ~ can someone give me an opinion as to which he may have coat wise? When we were looking for a new pup a silky coat was one of our desires as Gizmo was silky and silky is the breed standard no? his weight is perfect at 4.8lbs and Jan. 2nd will be 5mos. old. Thanks for any help!

I am noticing the silkiness more as he gets older. It's crazy how fast they grow up!! He has grown so much already in one month!

Hello to all of you... my Yorkshire Terrier's name is Klaire and she is allmoste 8 months old. Ithink my Yorkie is soft coated, but I cannot tell with accuracy. Her sir has had a realy nice silky coat, but her mother rather a soft one... I think my little one is standing somewhere in the middle with her coat, witch is very easy to care for, easy to comp and does not matt. The first picture is from my puppy and the other one from her mom...
Notice that i do see a small change in touch as she gets older an de the tips/edges are still her puppy coat cause that haw jet not beeing cut off.
An oppinion from you would be very nice...!!

how about this coat!
any word on what it means or if it's normal for a yorkie in a long puppy cut to be completely curly after a bath only to straighten out when dry?
legs stay a li'l wavy though and will curl right up if she goes into wet grass.

Pic 1-long skirt/coat all straight.
Pic 2-shows the curly legs when cut short
