It's all dependent on where you want to go in your breeding program. If you are breeding to improve the breed, which we all should be doing, then I'd stay away. Most importantly is the stud healthy. Has he had all the required testing performed and does he come from a good line?

My 10ms old yorkie's coat gets easly tangle under belly and around ears, but, her coat on the back does not. It is taking her coat a long time to grow.What kind of coat is she? Also, At her age she has not receive her first period. should I been worried?

Most pup's belly mat....just by the pure nature of their being pups and love to play. The mats on her ears, could very well be caused by scratching. Have you had her ears checked for infection.

Not, making fun of you, for the term you used "period", the correct phrase is when will by dog come into Season or Heat. But, to answer your question, first heats are anywhere on the average from 10 to 16 months of age. Have her spayed prior to her first Season.

what does it mean blue coat is it really blue? which coat grows faster soft or silky. my puppy's coat is silky but it is not long and she will be a year next month. I have seen yorkies as baby's with long coats. what make one coat longer then the other?

I was under the impression that Bella has a silky coat and is possibly the blue and tan color. Do you think this is correct? In the one picture just after breakfast (licking her chops!), you can see the greenish yellow color in her eye. She is 10 months old in these photos.

I have my future baby picked out, she is seven weeks old now, just passing the time until I can pick her up! I was wondering what kind of coloring she will have as an adult. Her mom is a red and black, and her dad is a very light gold/blue. She has a slight wave to her coat, and more gold on the base of her ear than her littermates. Any way I can tell if she'll turn out more like her mom or her dad, or a combo?

There is no way of telling what a 7 week old pup will turn out to be. She is way too young and yorkies are too complicated to know till they get 1-2 years old. You cannot even go by parents forsure. You have to also look at the grandparents. Ours is one breed that is the hardest to tell.

Hi My name is Léonie and I am new to the Yorkie Breed. I have a female that we call Juliette and she has just wormed her way into our hearts. I need to send in her registration papers or do it online but I am confused to what I should say her coloring is. Is there anywhere that has pictures of the different colorings so I can compare? She has more gray than tan in her face and her back is a grayish black? What constitues a blue coloring?
I appreicate any help with this matter.

I have a female Yorkie, Sophie, who has turned almost completely tan. There is still some silver but I'm afraid it's not going to last. She is AKC registered and will be a year in August. I had wanted to breed her to my little male who, in my opinion, is perfection in a Yorkie. Would this be a waste or something good? I've never seen a "gold" as I call it, Yorkie.

Hi to your question about the size. i had a yorkie that was 14 lbs at least.think even bigger. /for traveling was anightmare,. couldnt get into my hand luggage.He is/was the best dog and sooooo sweet and stinkin cute. couldnt get any better personality then him. Because im doing modeling and am allowed to bring a dog with me, i decided to look for a smaller one this time. so between 3 and 5 .5 lbs would be best for me. i want to bring her everywhere.
but i must admit,. sometimes you see really fragile yorkies and then i think its to much. then you can rather go for a hamster heheh j/k

What I don't understand and perhaps the members can help me with this, is why do people like to buy pups that will stay at 2 or 3 pounds? I mean what is it actually that people like about it? What does owning a 2 pound pup do? I am just curious because maybe I'm missing something. Are they better for some reason? I'm new to the Yorkie so I'm still learning. I mean to offend no one, just trying to learn some things here. This is a GREAT forum, the best I've seen for Yorkies.
