| would like to have a advice/referral Hi , I'm looking for reputable breeder in Chicago to buy a puppy. I red a few sad story about seek puppies that sold by unresponsible breeders and I try to avoid this situation. I don't have experience in Yorkie world. I read a lot about this wonderful breed and more falling in love with them. So if you have good experience or advice about Chicago breeders i'll be more then happy to hear about. |

| Hi! Welcome! I'm in Texas, so I'm going to be no help with breeders in the Chicago area. But wanted to say welcome and good luck with your search. IMHO Yorkies are the absolute best dogs!! So good choice.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I always recommend that people go to the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America for referrals. The YTCA is the mother club of the AKC and set the standard for the Yorkshire terrier. The members have a strong code of ethics and rules that they must abide by. Since they are truly interesting in bettering the breed, and not selling dogs, their prices are very affordable, and often less than pets store puppies. The downside is that they are extremely particular in where those puppies will be placed; for example, Joey's breeder would not sell to homes with children. If you think you can pass their high standards, see the YTCA site for referrals, you can call a few near you, and you will have a great chance at finding a dog healthy and beautiful. They probably get tons of e-mails, so I think calling might be better than e-mailing. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club

| Hi there and welcome to YT! Anthre very important thing to do is to educate yourself and start researching the Breed... be certain it is the right breed for you and your family. Rescue groups are a good way to get your foot in the door, as well as reputable breeders in your area. You will want to go to the breeders home and build a good relationship with them...

| WELCOME!!! Trust me I know all about trying to find a good breeder in the IL area. There are several good breeders in Michigan, its pretty close to you in Chicago, its just too far of a drive for us down here! I don't know about the breeders listed on the YTCA site, no one in my area (central IL) that I contacted returned my calls/e-mails. GOOD LUCK!!!
