| How is little stormy today..its possible it could be her teeth that are bothering her..most yorkies have too many teeth for their little mouths and end up having to have some pulled..harley had 8 removed last year, they also have to be brushed regularly as they are prone to decay..please keep us updated i am very close to Hamilton..

| I really liked YorkieKids advice about the clinic and this might help. It does mention Canada Financial Aid for Animals

| I am soooooooooo sorry you and Stormy are going thru this...I hope somehow it can all work out for the best. I know you love her very much and are trying your hardest to give her the best ![]() Please know that if for some reason you can no longer give her the medical care needed, then please consider a reputable rescue. This would be my first choice, as I know some members and let me tell you, they take excellent care of the sick babies ![]() RetroDoggy Rescue,Michigan Yorkshire Terrier Rescue,Michigan Maltese Rescue |

| Good Morning, I certainly hope little Stormy is feeling better this morning. I'm trying to think of how to word what I want to say....you know you sound like to me that after loosing your other baby, you are a little panicky, and thinking the worse about Stormy's incidents. Stormy needs you. In one of the posts I read where someone told you God put Stormy in your care, I agree. I had the same thing to happen with my little Bella. I have 3 now. My first 2 were perfectly healthy, and when I was looking at Bella, who was 4 mo at the time, the lady told me she was perfectly healthy, and was utd on her shots. Well, that all turned out to be hogwash, and I'm like you....the nerve...you say you love this little doggie to death, but you never did anything for her. Bella never had shots, had an ear infection, had a skin infection and was diagnosed with bilateral luxating patella. I was totally overwhelmed with all that and was thinging the absolute worse, and how can I afford all her issues. But once I got the infections cleared up everything was ok. Yorkies have such sensitive little tummies they are going to throw up. They throw up if they are too hungry, if they eat too much, or if their diet changes the slightest bit. I wouldn't be too concerned about Stormy throwing up unless it continues. Ear infections can be cleared up with a medication that is about $25 in my area. Depending on the grade of LP, Stormy could possibly live a normal life without the surgery. Bella has the LP and she runs like a jack rabbit. She's a grade 2, in both knees. One of mine went through the low blood sugar, and we almost lost him, but sugar dives can be prevented. I don't know what Stormy weighs, but the low sugars should cease when she gets to her ideal weight. All these things Stormy is going through are just things Yorkies get or have. Now the seizures is a different story. I've not been through that, but hopefully that won't happen to her again. Maybe you need encouragement that Stormy is possibly not as unhealthy as you are thinking. All of these issues are overwhelming, I know. Please think long and hard before you rehome her. Hugs to you and Stormy, Denise

| I have made a couple calls with no luck, nobody is willing to tell me ANYTHING or where to get help I even called the Humane Society and she won't tell me anything, she said they are not allowed to say anything about vets, or where to go or anything, she said call around yourself. Ugh how rude and disgusting! I am not so worried about her knee's. She doesn't do too much jumping or climbing stairs. She has had her rib cage broken and it fused together wrong, you can hear a click and feel it when she breathes. The vet told me there's nothing they can do about it now. I don't know if it's uncomfortable for her or if it causes her pain. She doesn't have an ear infection, she had some redness but the vet said it was nothing serious and gave her some drops. She has been on antibiotics now since beginning of December. She has been given shots, pain meds and antibiotics. It doesn't seem she is "better". Right now I can tell she is in some pain but I don't know why or from what. The vet who looked at her is not in til tomorrow. Her eye is totally better, you can hardly see any red in it so I am not so worried about this. The only thing I know about right now is that she has a couple baby teeth and her teeth are pretty bad as in they were NEVER taken care of before until I got her now. So I don't know if they are worse then I think and causing her pain. Or what ever else it is. I am just frustrated because I can't even get a recommendation to a good vet from anyone here I don't want to give her up, it will be like I am giving up ON her. I know this is probably a really stupid question but what if I did give her up to a rescue? And they helped her, could I possibly adopt her back? I love my baby She was 4.3lbs at the vets last week. | yes sorry I did thank you, I am looking at these places right now and emailing them to see what I can find out. Some of these links are not working and most I am looking at are American. I am contacting them anyways because if I have to go over to Detroit to a vet I will. Last edited by yorkie_mama22; 02-02-2009 at 08:18 AM. |

| Good vets can be hard to find. If you want cheaper rates, go to a place that is not an animal hospital. Animal hospitals have much more equipment (which is important) but that gets pricey to maintain. Of course when it comes to surgery, I would make sure the smaller facilities are up to date on the latest and safest procedures. You can make a list of questions and call around. If all of your questions are answered to your satisfaction, you could request to take a tour. If everything is clean and the staff is friendly, make an appt. It may take awhile but it will be worth it. I went through 4 vets for Ellie before I found the right one.
