Brett, Villette (red98vett) was nice enough to make me this Avatar and you can see my little gal in her first dress. Boy, do I like to tease you or what. I think there were some very good points brought out by alot of people on this thread and we all can learn from it. |
Oh my gosh it took me around 2 hours reading this whole thread, very informative. I agreed everyone can has different views what a puppy mill is but we all are against them. We all want what is best for our pups. To me Gucci is more than a pet she is part of my family. |

Ok I have to say this...... Now suppose you were a good knowledgable breeder who provided healthy well cared for and properly di everything for your pups. You dogs were good quality with good backgrounds. You little female had 1 of the cutest pups in the world and you handraised it indoors and provided excellent proper care. Now you have 2 lady's who are both excellent canidates to be puppy parents . They both have basically the same qualifications and are both good people who will provide good homes. Now ... do you sell to the lady who is going to pay you $5000 or the lady who is going to pay you $500. And remember.. no adding details or more questions or anything, you only have the info I am giving you and can get no more info. at all. Now I don't know about you guys but I have to say I would pick the $5000 lady. So while I truly understand the whole argument and feelings and reasons people are stating about prices.....Who in reality can blame someone who is an ethical breeder for taking the higher amount if someone wants to pay it to them??????? And by the way.....I'm hoping to find my next yorkie for $500....... :animal36 |

Wow! You know a breeder who lets us tell HER/HIM what we are going to pay for their pup? There IS a God! Somebody get me a bus ticket! :D Francie |
Easy, you sell your pup to the lady with the 5,000. You take your usually fee out for an excellent girl. Give 1,000 to the other lady so she can get a decent girl that you help her find and then donate the rest about 2,200 to rescue. I love hypotheticals. |
LOL :D No, I'm just trying to say ... Who can blame the breeder. A breeder can only get what someone is willing to pay and if the breeder is honest and raises her pups right and gives good care .... then why should they feel bad for whatever price they choose to charge. It's the purchaser who has the option to walk away or pay. Let me say I am speaking decent breeders for this point. I in NO WAY am accepting or condoning bad breeders in any shape or form! :aimeeyork |
You're right, sorry everybody, my prices just went up. anybody want to pay me 5,000. for a pup? |

Honestly ? That's what you would really do? I can't imagine too many people just handing over thousands of dollars if they came by it honestly. I'm not trying to be rude, :) |

Yeah, hard to believe, and I'm certainly familiar with living on a budget, but I do donate from every pup sold to rescue now, and I wouldn't feel right about pocketing that much when the Actual, real life value of a good dog is so much less than 5,000. It's just not right. |
Ok how about this for a comparison. Say someone makes Yorkie clothing....It cost them $5 to make aQUALITY Yorkie dress (including all expenses)but they sell it for $30. Are they a good businessman or a bad businnessman. If the dresses turn into the hot new fashion and every Star starts buying and people want to buy Mr. X's dresses and he raises the prices to $100 for that snazzy little dress that cost $5 to make... is he a bad man at that point or is he still a good businessman???? |

Oh, thats just REAL big of you Sylvan...do I look like I'm born yesterday? IT'S $10,000 OR NO DEAL AT ALL!! :lol tears Francie |

LOL... I hear ya... I'm just always flapping my mouth for people's rights... don't mind me. And like yourself , I donate also to rescue . Not only time but quite a bit monetarily :animal36 |
This has been a great thread. I have enjoyed reading it. We all love our babies....I know that for a fact!!!!! Goodnight all!!!! Joy |
You got a deal Francie....wait don't tell me, the checks in the mail, right? |
Sylvan, if you really did get the $5000, I've got a feeling you would donate part of it. Then again I remember a lady that wanted to breed Cavalier King Charles and she had so many problems with the stock she purchased and it took so long with so much expense to breed one pup, they called the one pup they finally came up with $20,000 twetythoh. She would have lost money selling it for $5,000 but she kept it and breed her. I think doing the right thing might not make you rich but I have seen people who are fair and ethical and seem to have a hobby or business that lasts a very long time. The greedy don't last long. |

Tess is drop dead gorgeous and I'll bet Mr. Cohen would be really sorry he let me have her if he could see her now. She is the official yorkie pup sliding board at our house and a total sweetheart, but don't tell Francie. |
