| I've been away for a little while & in that time my baby got ran over.... So I haven't been on yorkie talk in a while because i recently got engaged and moved out into the sticks...no internet untill now since august or so.. but to get to the point moving out into the country and having a house right on the main road hwy 79 isnt good. My poor baby got ran over back in October. Little Prissilla Ann God bless her little soul. She had never been one to venture out to the road even whenever i went to get the mail. I just happen to let her out to go potty and a friend and I were outside talking Priss was right at my feet like always. Within a split second a car came by doing 70 in a 45 zone and Priss was in the road. It happend so fast. and the bad part about it is I watched it happen in like slow motion.. I have nightmares about it. But I miss her so much. And if I wanted to get another little best friend how long should i wait???

| I am so sorry that this happened to your baby. I can only imagine how hard it had to of been to see it happen. I would say that if you feel ready to get another baby then go ahead and do it.

| Oh wow, I am so sorry. That had to have been just horrifying. I am really sorry for your loss. As to when to get another baby, I think it's different for everyone. Just listen to your heart and when you're ready, you're ready. Hugs!

| I am so sorry about little Priss. It's hard to say how long you should wait. When my baby girl passed away last May, I got Chelsea within a few days. I just couldn't stand the quiet, empty house. A puppy is sure to make you smile again, and you definitely won't have quiet for a while!

| I am so sorry for your loss. I think you'll know when the time is ready deep down. When i lost my siberian husky ....i said to myself..no more dogs. I couldnt handle the heartache. But after about 6 months...i just knew that I wanted to offer that love once again to a furbaby. Give yourself time...but i feel you'll just know when the time is right. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

| So sorry for you. If you feel ready for an other dog go head... But not until you are ready to be a strong leader... It will be harder for the new pup to adapt to his new life if you are "down" from your previous dog. Nothing like a puppy kiss to make you feel better, Big hug |

| I'm so sorry about your loss, I couldn't imagine being a "witness" to that, i too would have nightmares! As far as "how long" before you get another one...that's a personal decision and how YOU feel. I lost my Julz in Oct and i was hoping i could make it to Spring before we got another one b/c we travel alot. I've started my search on breeders back when Julz got sick and did alot of homeowork (about 2mo in my search). The void Julz left our souls back in Oct, became so unbearable for us, that the "when to get another one feeling" was about 4 weeks after we put her to rest. Dudley is such a lifesaver for us, he made our house feel like home the very same day we brought him through the front door. There isn't a day that goes by that i don't think about Julz and cry for her, she will always be with us. Dudley and Julz are so opposite but yet so identical.... I wish there was an answer for you but you have to feel it inside. Sending hugs your way and that you soon heal...

| So sorry to hear about your little one...that had to be devastating for you. Like the posts before mine stated, you will know when it is time.. Maybe you can also talk to your hubby about getting a fence put around the front yard...I wouldn't want you to go through that heartbreak again... May sweet little Priss rest in peace!. Hugs

| I am so sorry for your loss. As others have said, it really depends on the person. When I lost my special little angel, Annie last March, my DH encouraged me to just "go out there and look around. It will happen when it's suppose to". And he was right, just a scant week after Annie left, we were blessed with Gracie Ruth. What a love and joy she is. She even helped our sweet Boo with his grief over loosing Annie. She had big shoes to fill and she stepped right in from day one and made sure we all were taken care of. It gave me goosebumps to see her do uniquely Annie things. I just knew then that Annie was watching over us, making sure we didn't waste too much time grieving over her. But that we would give our hearts to another with no delay. Listen to your heart, the fact that you are even asking about it says that you would be open if that special one came along. And I'm sure Priss is wheeling and dealing, working things out to be just right so that you just "happen" to come across your next baby.

| I am very , very sorry . I had a cat over 15 years ago who was my world. I had crossed the street to wait for the bus and he decided to follow me. I watched him get hit too. I know how you feel. Take as long as you need . When you are ready to have a ne wpuppy your heart will tell you. Their is trauma that one experiences after an incident like that. You have precious memories of your dear little Priss. Hold onto those.
