I am very , very sorry . I had a cat over 15 years ago who was my world. I had crossed the street to wait for the bus and he decided to follow me. I watched him get hit too. I know how you feel.
Take as long as you need . When you are ready to have a ne wpuppy your heart will tell you. Their is trauma that one experiences after an incident like that. You have precious memories of your dear little Priss. Hold onto those.
