I also think crate training or using an ex-pen works great. Make Bailey earn his free reign in the home. He'll quickly learn that using that pee pad is his free ticket out of the ex-pen. Ignore the whining, barking, and crying. If he's not messing in the house at night, I'd continue taking him to bed with you at night. GOOD LUCK!

| Calm down and regroup your feelings...I understand how frustrating it can be but try to think of it this way...being frustrated is not going to help in the training or your situation. Your Yorkie could probably feel the energy from you and that is not going to help either. Take a few deep breaths, tell yourself she is a puppy and a Yorkie nonetheless (they can be smart and stubborn) and try to think of why you love her so much. If its too cold, don't leave her out for so long..she may associate the bad experience with going out to potty and may not even want to go the next time. Every dog has individual personalities. Some are naughtier than others but they do mellow down a little when they are older especially when they hit 2 years old, you'd see they do calm down a bit.

| With being a new Yorkie owner comes a lot of paitence!! And love and understanding! All Yorkie pups are different...different sizes, different attitudes, different personalities, different learning speed, etc. -- just like a child! Mojo is my cuddle love bug...loves to dress up, loves bows, is quiet and does not bark at random things....and he is a boy! Ha LilyGrace, on the other hand, is LOUD, barks at anything and everything, does not like to dress up, likes to cuddle, but it is a work in progress with her...will NOT keep a bow in her hair. All of these...over time, she is gradually getting better. Her personality and attitude are sooooo different from what I was use to with Mojo....but I do NOT love her any less! Just give a lot of praises with any training accomplishments.....give her lots of time and attention! I know potty training a Yorkie is always an issue....paitence and praise and treats are always key! Mine were both trained on washable pee pads....but since I am home all the time....they are use to going outside when needed. They will sit by the door, if I don't see them, they will whine so I know they are there. All I ever did was take them outside, said "go potty", let them walk around, etc...when I called them in, first thing I say is "want chewie" and give them a treats (whether it be a small Yorkie Yummy, a piece of cheese or fruit, etc)....they learned...hey, if we go out and do our business, come back when called...we get a goody.... but it takes time!
