| My little Zaira has a white bear that she has slept with since the first night I had her. She drags him around and he is as big as her. We politely call him "humpy bear". He is her boy friend and that is fine with me. She will take him into a dark room and ummm ... use him! LOL She's not hurting anyone and she does try to keep it private! LOL I think it is funny.

| My Sasha (the smaller of the 2) is the "humper". She humped her sister Coco (who happily let her while she sat and played with her toys) and now, when she's feeling well, she's humping CeCe,( who makes her chase and doesn't give her much of a chance to get started!) I tell her "no humpin'! she stops right away....but she just can't help herself and starts right up when I'm not looking!

| I was over at a friend's house last night with Hiro... They have a pretty little pug girl! (she's fixed and about a year and a half old) I think Hiro adores her! Anyway, they were chasing eachother, playing and having a good ol time, but I think she had enough of him and jumped on the couch to get away. He followed her and proceeded to hump her. @_@ I was mortified! My Hiro was THAT dog! ... He hasn't done this the whole time I've had him. Not to blankets, toys etc. I know it doesn't really hurt anything, but if I can nip this behavior in the bud, I most certainly will. I do NOT think it's cute. We haven't had him fixed yet, but that will change very soon as well.

but I've decided that as long as he has a "steady girl friend" that I'm just gonna let it be until he gets neutered. Even when you take the toy away he continues to do the hip movement for a good 5 minutes anyway. | |

| YT 1000 Club Member | Roxie does this also. She was spayed between 4-6 months. She has a white bear that she confinscated from my daughter (daughter doesn't want it back). It's bigger then her and it's a riot to watch her drag it around the house. She'll try to drag it up onto furniture. We too have named it humpy the bear and I just leave her be with it unless we have company. My brother's 2 yorkie-poo's were neutered as pups and they do it to each other. They mostly do it during a wild rough house session. They make them stop but eventually they go at it again. I find that more disturbing then with a stuffed bear. I don't think it hurts anything and she doesn't do it all of the time. |

| If you are not planning on breeding...PLEASE have him neutered. My little precious Mojo had a blanket that he would "hump"...and he would only do that to his "love blanket". But, one day, he was bleeding from his wee-wee....it ended up being nothing major...he had rubbed a big sore spot on his wee-wee and it was blistered, but had burst. The vet strongly advised us to have him neutered, since we had no plans of breeding him....because there could be so many other complications to not being neutered. We had that done...he was fully recovered by the next day and he no longer humps anything!

| Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I think in the very beginning it is more about dominance. Around the 5 month mark though it tends to be the onset of their sexual maturity. I saw the difference with Toby and made it my business to get him neutered. The last thing I needed was the house marking that was sure to come.

| Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Usually it takes a couple weeks past a spay or neuter for all the hormones to be out of their body. So that is why some may hump after they are spayed or neutered. Remember some will also just do it for dominance.

| My almost 13 year old Truman still loves to hump a big ol teddy bear when it's available to him! The first time I met him was at 7 weeks of age...believe or not, he humped my arm. That's how I knew he was the one! ha ha Even after a month of not seeing him he humped me as soon as he came home with me. He used to hump his toy basket and even got "stuck" a few times in that, but there was no stopping him! He was neutered when he was 6 months old and is the most gentle, submissive little sweetheart ever. But...look out if you are big, furry and he can wrap his paws around you!
