Go with your gut! If you think it was the "one" for you, then do it! On the other hand, if you were put off (which is sounds like you were) by the puppy's actions (wrong or right given the situation) then look for the right puppy! I am sure you find one perfect for your family!

I am sorry for your son's struggle and am glad to hear he is nearing the end of his treatment! I hope he feels better soon! Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers!!
