Maybe mine is already in worse shape because I've had it longer, mine is going on 10 years old. As I said, the top is all cracked from where they lay, and you can see scratch marks, but, it's also a tan couch(called mushroom color), the thing is, it doesn't bother me, and it has been wiped up plenty of times. This is kind of the dogs room anyway, and one day, I will replace the furniture, for now, it doesn't bother me at all.

We have a leather sectional and have had no problems with our two yorkies scratching it. Even when they try to "make a bed" on it. I do keep a fake furry throw on it because they love to curl up on that to catnap. The elder puppy likes to "lick" the leather but neither has tried to chew it. It is treated with a no stain finish and it has held up through five dogs now. Still looks like new.
