| Being Bad for Attention? OK, so every time I get on my laptop, I usually sit on the floor so I can watch/play with Baxter. Well, he must not like me being on the computer, because every time I start typing, he'll sit next to the computer, look up at me, growl, then lunge for my fingers. It's really annoying sometimes! But aso kinda cute. (unless he accomplishes biting my finger and then shakes it in his mouth... it hurts!!) I was just wondering if anyone else had a pup that does this. I know he is teething; he has TONS of toys. Both my roommates bought him new toys for Christmas so he has an abundant supply of chew toys. I really honestly think he attacks my fingers and hands when I'm on the computer, because I am not paying attention to him. He wants ALL the attention ALL the time.

| Zima does this ALL the time! Anytime i sit on my computer at the desk he pulls on my pants, i ignore him, he cries (or should i say squeaks) so i sit on the floor with my laptop and he attacks my fingers!!! I just try to distract him with his toys, play tug a war with him and his rope and then when he finally seems interested in that i go back to what i was doing! My husband yells at me coz i ALWAYS give in and give him what he wants... hehehe, i can't help it when he looks at me with that face like butter wouldn't melt........ Im all his! My husband on the other hand completely ignores Zima when he's being naughty and/or asking for too much attention so now Zima has learnt his limits with him and obeys him... I guess that's the key but i find it so hard!!!! I know I'm no help but just wanted to let you know your not alone!!! |

| If Callies not getting attention when she wants it she will take something she knows shes not supposed to have outside and then bring it back inside and tease us that she has it and eventualy drops it. Normaly when I'm on my laptop I curl up on the love seat and she lays at my feet and we cover up with a blankie and my laptop is on a little table/tray but somethimes she will lay on my knee/thigh and put her head on my keys keeping me from typing.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Your fingers are moving in a way that is very teasing for him, remember they attack things that move like that. I think you would do better to put you computer on a table.

And Nancy1999, when I move to my desk or bed, he'll simply bark or whine until I let him up on the bed/chair with me where he simply tries attacking me once more! Unless he is sleepy, THEN he'll lay down with me. But anyways, I am glad I am not the only one with an attention seeking pup!

I just want to add that certain behavior on a pup can be cute, but on an older dog it can be really anoying, and it so much easier to train the pup.
