| Please point me to the Senior Page! Rocco will be 10 years old in July. He is adopted and had LP & surgeries before he came to be a part of our family. He is really having a hard time with this winter. He is moving slowly, going up and down steps seem hard for him now. My 47 year old hubby is loving how Glucosamine w/ MSM helps him and I want to know if anyone yorkie's are benefiting from Glucosamine! I haven't been on this site in a very long time, so I apologize if i am posting to the wrong Discussion group. Please just point me where to go! Thanks!!!

| Squirt has amazingly positive results with glucosamine. Last March (2008) I seriously thought that he did not have much longer to live. The vet said to start him on glucosamine, & I'd start to see the benefits after 30 days. Sure enough, the vet was right. Now, after several months, he's got much of his youthfulness back.

| Lady just turned thirteen. I swear by Cosequin. It's her fountain of youth! She has terrible arthritis in her hip and shoulder. She had to be on steriods for awhile because she couldn't even walk. She doesn't limp at all with Cosequin everyday. Cosequin Regular Strength (90 capsules) Many of the glucosamine products on the market don't contain enough to benefit them. A Yorkie within the weight standard needs 300 mg a day. |

What dosage do you give her, where do I buy it? Rocco is 6.5 lbs. Thanks everyone for your input, I really appreciate it!

I give her a capsule everyday. The dosage is on the bottle. It says you can cut them back to 1/2 capsule after a few months, but I still give the full capsule. | |

| Yes!! Please put him on Cosequin! For purely "feel good" measures, you could get him a heated bed.

| We have a 3 1/2 year old golden retriever with one of the worst cases of hip dysplasia the vet has ever seen in such a young dog. She's on a pain med, and they had her alos on rimadyl(it was close to $300 for a 5 mo. supply), I couldn't afford to keep her going on that with 5 other dogs, so, when she was getting close(within about 5 weeks) of running out of rimadyl, I took it upon myself to start cutting the rimadyl back from 1 1/2 pills a day to just one, and then giving her some glucosamine I got at petsmart. She's doing fantastic, of course, she's still on the pain meds also. The vet said last time she checked her, she was even getting some muscle back, so, don't know if it's the glucosamine or what, but, whatever it is, it's working. They had said she would probalby start having a problem getting up again maybe 1-2 weeks after he last shot(she had shots once a week for 8 weeks straight of glucosamine), well, her last shot was the last shot of her 8 weeks, which was the last week in August. |

| My vet recommended Cosamin DS. I like it because it comes in a 2 piece capsule. I open the capsule & sprinkle some of the powder on Squirt's food twice a day.
