| I just stated my opinion on this dog! Okay...here it goes, I purchased a Yorkie in September,SHe was a beautiful Yorkie. I waited 4wks after getting the dog to take her to the vet because money was tight and I was trying to get my daughter off to college and just took the breeders approval the dog was in good shape no reason to take her to the vet the day I got her. She is 2yrs old. When we do get to the vet, he examines this bald look spot on her front leg and it turns out to be fungus"ringworm" and that place was there when I picked her up from the airport. I called the breeder and she says it where she had an IV the hair will grow back in a few weeks and I BELIEVED THIS BREEDER and went on about my business and then find out later it was a fungus. After all this,my family and get ringworms and have to go to the DR also. I talk to the breeder again and she like well she didn't have ringworms when she left here..hey I no ringworms are not life threaten to a dog and their was not any reason it could not be shipped. SO, I let things go and went on about my everyday life and tended to this yorkie. I have yorkies too and I breed them and have a litter a year from my Mommies and I just recently gotten another male and he is a little more longer legged than I wanted him to be..so I thought I would place on puppyfind. When I did..I received and email stating someone was interested in this male..come to find out it was this BREEDER 'best friend' or co-owner in with her dogs and she was just wanting to know where I got this male and where he was from and on and on..an my point to make is I told this friend I got a dog from her area and stated who she was and where I had gotten the dog and about the ringworm. Just in a matter of minutes this BREEDER is blowing up my computer..telling me she is getting me for "slander"over what I said about this dog..ALL I did was tell my opinion on the dog what I went through and now this woman is out to get me saying I am slandering her and her Yorkie Business! JUST BECAUSE I STATED what I went through with this dog. Are there really this kind of people out there that just sit and dwell on what people say and just keep on and on..I have not bad mouth this Lady in any way..just stated what I went through with this Yorkie. She has beautiful Yorkies! AS you noticed I didn't use any names..because I did not want to get a stink started..just voiced my opinion! Just asking if anyone else had went through anything like this and does it ever stop..like I said I juist stated what I went through with this dog..I was not slandering anyone or her Yorkie Business! I know life isn't perfect! Just take it one day at a time! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | To win a civil court case, she would have to prove that you've damaged her business reputation and from what you've posted I don't think that has happened. The breeder should worry more about you suing her for damages for infecting your family with ringworm Sadly yes, I aware of many threatened lawsuits in the dog sales world, for various reasons. Happy New Year!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | If what you said is true, it's not slander even though it hurts her business. Most courts even take what you thought to be true as a defense, but they judge on the reasonableness of your thoughts. An opinion doesn't count as slander either.

| She can't sue you for slander if it is be truth . I would get something from your vet in writtimg saying that the dog already had it. I would also talk to her veT that did the vet check prior to shipping to compare notes. I would also get a note tom your doctor documenting the ring worm your family aquired. ( just incase you have to defend yourself)

| Anyone can sue Just remember anyone can sue anyone-for a good reason or not. If you are sued, you must respond to the suit with an answer--with an attorney or pro per. If you have homeowners insurance you may have your company hire an atty for you. As a litigation adjuster, I have seen many of these suits--slander and libel suits are personal injury suits, and may be covered under your legal liability portion of your policy.

| Thanks for all the replys..I know I should have just kept my mouth shut and never have told about what I thought about this dog and what we went through with all the drama of the ringworm issue and how I felt about the dog period...you just never know how people make things out and how they twist the issues around to make them bigger than what they really are. Like I said..This LADY has beautiful dogs just by looking at her website and I did talk to several people about her before I made my decision and no one said anything about her that would throw up reg flags! I get on here and read more than I reply and have learned alot and I know that I am still novice when it comes to dogs and you learn from others and their experience with the yorkie breed..this is just hurtful to me..that she can't let it go just because...I told a view people she is friends with about this all situation and I am sure some more details have been added to the whole conversations and she has made it out that I am trying to ruin her..but I never said a cross word about her..in any way! |
