| Have you shaved the hair off of the ears? Also, if he is getting his adult teeth, the ears will sometimes go back down. But the weight of the hair on the ears needs to be taken off. If that doesnt do the trick, you will need to tape them up. I use 1/2 inch masking tape. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Agree with Yorkiekist; be sure to keep the hair shaved at least 1/3 of the way down on the ears and at 8 months, I would definitely use the taping trick. Keep the tape on for a few days at a time, then take it off for a day or so, and repeat as necessary. If you're lucky, they will stay up after one try, but one of my yorkies took quite a while before her ears stayed up. Good luck!

| I shaved and taped and taped and shaved, and Holly's ears would not stay up. They were up when I got her at 12 weeks. They went down with teething and never stayed up since. I think she looks cute with floppy ears.

| If I have ears that are very hard to go up, I shave the hair on both sides of the ears all the way down to the top of the head. then I tape the ears by folding the tape along the sides so the ears are outlined with the folded tape. Then I make a bridge across the center connecting the ears together. This usually will stand them up. YOu need to take the tape off every week and massage the ears. If they are not standing, tape them up again. If the cartilage of the ears is broken, the ears will not stand.
