| Just an update on my Sophie after the accident... So things are going well for Sophie and I. It was been a week after the incident and she has really been recovering nicely. She doesn't appear to be in much pain, and i continue to give her the antibiotics daily. Today, we removed the stitches from the eye, and that makes it one step closer to healing as far as I go, I have prayed for strength to help me deal with this. I do believe God has given it to me. Now I am able to hold my baby, and look at her adorable face without crying at the sight of her wound. She has adapted well to only having one eye, she can run, jump, play just like she used to. I don't even think she know's one is missing! But, i still keep her away from any mirrors -- just in case

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so happy to hear you found the strength to deal with your baby's accident. I can understand how it would be difficult to see your baby like that at first. I have thought of you all week and am happy you posted this. That's cute about the mirror's!!

| Prayers to you and Sophie. Hang in there I know first hand how it feels to have an injured baby. You feel kind of helpless and like where do I go from here. Best wishes to you both and happy holidays.

| I am also glad to hear you are doing well. Having grown up on a farm with many animals, creatures of all sizes do just fine with one eye. I have a little min pin that got away from me when she was just ten months old and was hit by a car. She suffered nerve damage in her hip which caused the tip of one of her back legs to bend under and back wards, so she walks on the top of her foot instead of the padded bottom (like the top of your hand, if you were to try to bend it backwards to touch your elbow). It really bothered me at first because it really looks kind of bad especially if you are not used to it. She is now getting to be old and she has done just fine all her life with not even any pain meds for maintenance. She is definately a topic of discussion when ever someone new sees her, and sometimes I don't care for the reaction..."eeewwww" but she has a wonderful personality and still runs and jumps and plays on that foot even the way it is. Vets are surprised she has done so well with it, and has not required an amputation yet. I call her my gold nugget because of all the money she has cost me, LOL. Hugs to your baby! |
