| ![]() If I am correct...that article you mention was written by the BTCA president, so of course they are referred to as Biewer Terrier's in that article.

![]() DQ is in showing. If a parti-yorkie is bred from two AKC registered blue/gold, blue/tan, etc. yorkshire terriers- then, yes, it can be registered with the AKC. The dog will not be able to participate in confirmation, however. Though, most AKC breeders breed to standard- and, since they know genetics, will rarely; if ever; get a parti.

![]() Hmm... well, the AKC is pretty confusing with their standards and their rules. But, I imagine if both parti's have AKC papers then the puppies could be AKC registered. I've never known anyone to breed partis together, though. So, I could be wrong.

![]() Thank you everyone for all of your input. I have been reading much more on the internet and trying to find out as much as possible. My DH and I find it very interesting. How do you pronounce Biewer? Is is like Beaver or Beavair or something completely different. Also, what is the coat texture like on a Biewer and a parti? Does a Biewer have a silky yorkie like coat or is it more soft? Is a Parti coat silky? Thanks

Biewer standard calls for silk coats, but you see a lot of soft coats. Reggie's coat is very very soft and his coat is much thicker than my yorkies. No clue on the parti coat. I would assume the preference would be silk.

![]() We call the dog a Biewer Terrier because Biewer is the name of the man that created the breed and Terrier is the type of dog it is. We have proven that the Biewer is a breed of its own and not a Yorkshire Terrier. A magazine as prestigious as Top Notch Toys certainly validates its articles before publishing them, wouldn't you think? The Parti breeders say they have Yorkshire Terriers with a recessive piebald gene and so does the bbci. Now if the bbci says they have a Yorkshire Terrier with a mutant piebald gene, then what is their foundation for the breed being a separate breed? They say they are holding true to the long term goals of the originator of this wonderful breed, then why did they change the name? Why did they add black to the standard. There's 2 contradictions right there.
