| Omgosh, This SAME thing happened to 2 of mine last year except neither of them got hurt. Tobie and my Chi/JRT mix, Charlie, were playing. Charlie wears a collar but Tobie doesn't. I was sitting on the couch on my laptop while they played on the floor and suddenly, Tobie started yelping and I noticed they were somehow stuck together. I started freaking out and quickly realized that Tobie's lower jaw was stuck under Charlie's collar. I screamed for my hubby and was able to hold Tobie still while he took Charlie's collar off. Thankfully, no one was hurt... just a little shaken up. I thought this was just a freak accident and I surprised it has happened to someone else

| This is the first time I have read this thread. Wow, so glad everything turned out so well and what a great reminder about collars on our little ones.

| I just finished re-reading this thread and am, once again, am thankful for the outpouring of love and caring shown to me by members of YT. Adie recovered and is doing well although she tends to avoid other dogs and isn't often interested in playing with Skeeter. I know her ordeal is at the base of that. We say she has adie-tude but we understand her. Skeeter is absolutely unharmed physically or emotionally. (I don't think he has ever been in a bad mood.) He is a happy little guy. I said in another thread that I drag this thread out every time the subject of collars comes up and no matter what I intend to continue dragging it out. I don't want anyone to ever got through what we went through. |

| Just seeing this thread-wow, scary! Unfortunately, I'm kinda stuck in a rock and a hard place because I would love for Jackson to not have to wear a collar w/ tags... but we live on 3 acres with 90 acres of farmland behind us but we're also close to alot of neighborhoods and stuff (if you go thru the woods there's a nice neighborhood) and we have sooo many doors in this house and or example, today on Easter, one got left open and he was out wandering around and I spotted him after only like 30 seconds and luckily he came right to me(yay our practice is paying off!) but anyways... my point.. if he were to get out and NOT have his tags on, I'd be FREAKING out. I've returned like 10 dogs in my lifetime because their phone numbers were on their tags so it makes me feel safe!
