| Anyone see/hear of this?! As most of you know it will be two weeks on Wednesday that Stormy got into the nair. Everything was healing great, she had scabs on her face and nose, they started to come off and of course were all kinda gooy under neath so I was washing her face once a day and putting burn creme on like the doctor said to do. Yesterday the scab on her nose came off and it was on the top of her nose. Well when it came off there was NOTHING underneath It now looks like she has NO NOSE. I called the vet last night and spoke to the lady at the desk, they were busy and she said to call back but it was already late and she didn't make it sound like it was a BIG deal so I got busy my daughters really sick on breathing treaments for possible peunomia so I call again now and I explain to another girl what happen she said she needs to be seen ASAP so I am going in one hour with my mom because she is so good with speaking to people because I will break down and cry easily when it comes to my babies. So I am so scared now. Has anyone heard of something like this happening after an injury or seen it? I never have and it is crazy!!!!!! |

| I remember seeing your post about the nair. I'm glad to hear that Stormy has been healing so great. So it looks like her nose is gone? Have you noticed her breathing out of her mouth? Please keep us updated. I am very curious to hear how this turns out. I'm keeping you and Stormy in my prayers and hoping that it's nothing serious. :hugs:

| I just returned and the vet gave me a scare at first but when we explained to him what we have went through these two weeks with her he said that she is going to be alright. Shes on antibiotics again in case of an infection and because the nose has to heal a little bit more. So we go back on the weekend for a checkup with the original vet who saw her the first time. Her mouth has healed good and so has her face, the hair is starting to grow back around her lips so he said in about two-three weeks she should be all good. He first walked in and was like "omg this is not good. she is suffering" I said what are you serious? and he said yes look at her, you have a difficult decision to make. I said like what! and my mom says doc you didn't see this dog whe nwe first brought her in and what I went through with her, its a miracle that she is alive! and we explained to him and he read through her file and agreed and said she is just going to have no nose now I guess. It works, she can smell and everything but she just looks a bit funny. Oh well I guess, she's still beautiful to me and I don't love her any less. This is better then having her die or be put to sleep. I thought that her tongue would fall off or something else, didn't think it would be her nose, i knew she was going to be deformed a bit but it was just shocking to see. I am just thankful she's alive and well and back to her normal self which I must add she is so much more cheerful and happy, in a way I think this has helped us all, she is close now with my hubby and will sleep with him ALL night and forget about mama! lol |

| I'm so happy and relieved to hear that Stormy is going to be okay. How scary it must have been at first with that vet! I'm glad that you were able to have your mom there with you to help keep things calm.

| I have seen a injury where a Greyhound's nose and muzzle was taken off in a incident. He never did "grow" a muzzle back, but lived a happy life with his family. Crazy and scarey to see..but he did fine. Good luck.
