| ♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry that happened to your baby (and you) . I'll be thinking about Sophie today and hoping that she adjusts quickly! Her depth perception may be off a little now, so she may need extra help jumping on couches, etc... Poor baby...I know she'll be just fine, but I totally understand hurting because you know she's hurting and worrying about her!

| Oh my, I just saw this thread and read thru so quickly hoping for a better outcome and to add my prayers. I'm so very sorry she has lost one eye, and hope she recovers from the surgery and the whole ordeal quickly. And to you, I send my biggest hugs and more prayers to comfort you. That is a lot to go thru. Bless you all!

| I am so sorry they could not save her eye. That's so sad, however, I understand they do very well once they get use to it. I am glad she is coming home today. |

| I wish the vet had better news for you, but Sophie is going to be ok. She wont be too confused beacuse the most important thing in her life will be the same when she gets home... your love.

| Oh, poor baby Sophie. I know she will do fine but it is not the outcome we had all prayed for. Give her a squeeze from us.

| Oh, I'm so sorry that they couldn't save the eye. I was prepared to tell you about my poodle's eye surgery many years ago - he ended up with a prosthetic eye (not a glass eye but a prosthetic filling inside his own "eyeball skin") - but then I read further and saw that it couldn't be saved. I wish I would have read this sooner because I wonder if the vet could have done that for your pup. My Daxton did just fine though with one eye. He was not even 1 year old when it happened but he already had this quirk about flipping around in circles when he was excited. He always flipped to the left and even after he lost his left eye he continued to do that. I don't think he really knew any difference. We never noticed any difference in his behavior with only one good eye anyway. And he lived a long ~15 more years. Good luck with your baby's recovery. I'll be thinking of ya'll.

| Darn it! I was so hoping for better news but she will be alright and get to come home to a loving mommy and grandma. She is still a lucky little dog. Believe me, she won't spend a lot of time trying to figure out what's wrong. She'll do fine. What are you going to do about her sister? I hope you can get them both trained to tolerate each other and not be so jealous. I think spaying might actually help. Good luck sweetie. |
