| Potty Training My puppy is 10 months and I still cannot get her to stop going the bathroom in the house. I have tried everything I know. I took treats outside to give her right when she goes but she will not eat treats outside. Even her favorite ones. She is little so when she does go inside it is very small. I usually only see poop. She is currently in heat so I put a doggy diaper on her and she pees in that also. I have had to continue to take it off and wash it because she pees. I am looking for advice on what to do to potty train her. It is getting horrible.

| welcome to YT! Soooooooo sorry that weeks have gone by and no one answered you. Have you tried crate training? I totally think at this stage you should. I think consistency iw the biggest thing. Hopefully others can give you some other advice

| Have you seen this? We tried alot of stuff also...We went through those potty pads, diapers, dog litter and then I found this thing called "Wizdog" it's a plastic tray, you put newspaper down and then this top thing and we trained our little one to go potty on that, we keep it in the house and she doesn't have any accidents...it doesn't stink, have any odors (unless you don't change the paper or clean the top) it was like $30 and it well worth it, all you have to change is the newspaper...if you haven't seen it, you should check it out! I don't think they sell it in the stores, I haven't seen it anyways... Quote:

| does she stay in a crate or a pen? do NOT give her run of the house at all, or she will continue to have accidents. she needs to be confined when you can't watch her 24/7.

I was just saying that we tried alot of products out there and this is the only thing that seems to work really well....suggesting to people that don't know what to do to give it a try.... |

| If it helps, I crate train all my dogs. Roxy is 9 mts now and still has accidents in the house if I forget to take her out. She's up to 2 hrs or so, but if I forget she will and pee on the floor or poo. But, I have an older dog also and she will have an accident sometimes too. I think re-training is just part of all dogs on occation. I crate them a little more when there are a few in-house clean up's. I don't give them run of the house, ever! If they are running the house I'm right there with them. I call this "Potty Training Mom" Good luck! |
