| When does their black start turning to silver? Kingston's about 7 months now, and he has little fringes of silver on the tuffs of his fur. *sniff sniff, they grow up so fast** When does their silver start to really come in? TIA, Happy Monday

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Their heads usually start changing first...and usually by their 1st birthday...their backs are changing. It can take up to 3 years for their color to come in completely. I am told the later the coloring on their back takes...the more likely it will remain dark.

| My boy fletchers color really 'broke' when he had his first grooming at about 11 months old. I brought him in black and he came out silver, it was all hiding under the long black hair! It was shocking to say the least. As with most of us, the first grooming is so bittersweet. Its when you realize your little puppy is now a 'man' so to speak. LOL My Dexter has a cotton coat and he never turned silver, he stayed black. My boys are both a little over 3 years old now so I think their color is now the way its going to stay!

| Hi, and to YT. I have heard it can take up to 3 years for the color to completely break and turn blue. I have also heard the lighter the blue, the quicker it will turn. My little girl "Bug"...started turning about 6 to 7 months. Here are a few pics that shows her color changes. 1. shows her at about 3 months. 2. shows her at about 7 months, just starting to break. 3. shows her at a year old...a dark steel blue...the color I liked the most. 4. shows het at 18 months...she is now a platinum silver. However, when I cut her real short...she is the pretty dark blue steel color again. Only gets plantinum when I let it grow out. Hope this helps.

| walker is only 4 months and is already a dark silver. No black to be seen on his back since i cut his hair. I think the chances are pretty good of him turning real light since hes so young and already changed. |

| Sophie will be 16 weeks on Friday and her head is really light under the black, it seems to be growing in silver at the roots. It started laying down a bit too dince it is getting longer. Her chest is lighter too, I was comparing pics of when I got her November 1st and she has already changed a lot. Vet was Saturday and she is 3.2 lbs.... she was 2lbs when I got her! Just like watching your real kids grow!

| I wish I had baby pics of Stormy but unfortunately I don't, she came to me already silver. Her papers said she was gold/blue. Her "gold" color is pretty light in person almost golden blonde and shes a bluey silver, if that makes sense lol. She is 1.5 years old. |
