| Health guarantee? What does someone mean when they say they will guarantee the health of the puppy you buy? Does it mean any sickness or illness then the puppy is reurned to the breeder or if the dog does get sick is the breeder responsible for the vet bills while the buyer still keeps the puppy? When does a health guarantee expire or do you keep a guarantee throughout the dogs life? Or if anyone else has any iformation on health gaurantee please share. Thanks |

| It usually means a guarantee regarding genetic defects. Usually for 1 year or so. So if there is something that is wrong due to genetics or bad breeding they will exchange him. It does not mean anything regarding sicknesses or vet bills. |

| My breeder offered a great one, She offers lifetime against genetics, will pay half of medical cost if you decide to keep the dog and have it treated. It covered the traditional 48 hours for you to get a vet check and screen for illness. Does not cover if the dog contracts an illness in your care or suffered an injury while in your care.

| Every breeder has a differant contract, and it is EXTREAMLY IMPORTANT for you to read over your contract and understand all of it, before ever receiving your little one. Sometimes, a contract will state genetic disorders covered for a year or two but NOT cover any joint/knee problems or vet bills that go with it. These tiny breeds are very prone to joint/knee issues and it can be either hereditary or injury... Also, in case of a death, make sure that an autopsy is done at a independant lab, neither the breeders or the owners vet, this is crucial!!!! I cannot tell you how much I have learned over this past year of having two Yorkie's, one passing away and having to use "my contract guarantee" and one still living but could have used "the guarantee" if I pursued the issue. Sadly to say, this would have meant returning Schatzie to the breeder for a replacement pup. Well, this turned out to be more of a "personal" issue on my part and "I" chose to keep Schatzie and not return her. I hope this helps...

| The "joint/knee issue" was something my breeder specified in her contract that should Mia ever develop luxating patella, she would cover half the vet bills for treatment/surgery for the condition or a relpacement dog..well ..no way in the world would I surrender her for a "replacement". However I was very happy with her contract as I belive it's the best one I have seen or heard of. I felt confident in her as a breeder that she would stand behind her line with a contract as good as the one she offers.
