| Black and gold. Does anybody else have a black and gold yorkie (adult)? My pup Ollie is almost 10 weeks old now and he is still as black as the ace of spades with gold trim. He shows no silver at all except one streak on his forehead. It doesn't appear very silver/blue at first glance, but if you part the hair it is "shiny" underneath. I've seen very few black yorkies from the ones I've seen on the site so far, so I was just curious. Should he be showing blue or silver yet? I'm just surprised because his dam was chopped down (so I couldn't see her full coat) but his sire was pure silver and gold. His littermates were very dark as well. Do you think he will stay black and gold? |

| I've heard that sometimes the colour change doesn't happen for months. Ollie sure is cute though!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | all 3 of mone are black. Cali is 3 1/2 and still black, Pixie is going to be 3 in January and is just now geting sone silvery on her back. Roxie is 13 months and all black, even her head hasn't yet cleared. I think 10 weeks is still too soon to tell but he sure is cute.

| Yep, Walker just turned 1 yr old and is still mostly black and gold. He's got very little silver feathered in around the back legs. My husband likes his color so much that he threatened to use "Grecian Formula" on the dog if he ever changed colors (Just kidding of course! I'd never let him do THAT)

| 10 weeks is way to young to tell, He will change as he grows. My 2 year old Manolo is Black and Gold. Lola my girl is black silver and brown. Their puppy Pablo is 18 weeks and I think he will be like Manolo, but who knows that half the fun of your Yorkie. You really dont know what he will look like....Good luck Olie is a cutie... |

| Juicy was black and tan for the longest, her mother was fully blue and sire was light as well. She is now just starting to grow in blue hair so i think it just takes time.

| There is still plenty of time for his color to change. I have a male that didn't break the blue coat until he was around a year old. I also have a male that has a black/gold coat as an adult. |
