I can see that this thread has hit a nerve in alot of people!! It wasn't meant to DISRESPECT anyone here...however like many others have stated....this forum is provided to educate and inform and allows us to share our views and opinions on subjects at hand.......and I personally feel that even those that are "passionate" about what they believe should still be tactful.....and show the same respect that they like to recieve. I'm sorry life is not all sunshine and lollipops..sometimes important issues need to be addressed!!! I personally do not get involved in many "controversial" threads.....however I feel very strongly that those who feel superior to us "yorkie dummies" should still try to reach a person's heart....making judgemental statements does not do that...it only pushes a person to defend their stand...it doesn't help them to reason on the situation. And in the end it could cause a person to leave YT and inevitably THEY lose out and the puppy they may or may not purchase loses too!! Which I hope is something that NOONE wants to see happen. and as far as that commercial supplier of fur goes...I cannot support him or feel bad for his leaving one bit!!! |
I had to go re-read the whole thread and go through this one also, YorkieTalk is a big forum and its family, we all have our difference, I have seen some really bad threads in the past that were rude and just wrong, but I don't think this one was at all. This new person was wanting one of the puppies, as I have learned so much in the past 3 years from being on YT. I bought my first yorkie 11 years ago and he was a morkie, granted I didn't know anything about the disease and problems these little guys can have if you don't get them for a great breeder, so you could have told me the same thing and yes I might have gotten alittle upset but I probably wouldn't have listened to you, my heart took over with Peanut and I got him, and yes he has major health issues, but is still around. After getting my next Yorkie from a byb, still not knowing a lot just that I was in love with him, I had Tucker 4 years when we had to have LS surgery, which didn't work and had to make the choice of having him put down because of his suffering, after that I got on the web and researched and study about Yorkies. I paid 500 for him and that was 9 years ago, which was a lot of money back then, but I end up paying 3500 for him just on the LS surgery bills. My next yorkie was Lexie and I was going to make sure about testing for LS and problems and health guarantees. I think TLC and others was just trying to help her, sometimes you may think we are acting like big bad moms telling you no wait and do this, but have you thought maybe we have been there and are just trying to save you some heartache. If I had been on and seen her thread I would have told her the same thing, Yorkies aren't cheap, and I would say most of the time what you pay upfront from a great breeder will save you money in that baby's lifetime. Its a live and learn experience and since there are so many of us one here, maybe we are trying to be NICE in our on way and say HOLD ON thats a byb or get health guarantees, do your homework. I would give my right arm if I had so many people trying to help me out when I got Tucker, maybe I would have listen and not went through all the pain that we suffered with him, it has been 5 years and not a day goes by I don't think about that poor little boy.:( Advice is good, and we need to listen more, being mean isn't and a rude know it all isn't either, IMO no one was being that on her thread. Maybe she will think about some of the things said here and rethink her decision. |
I just want to say that to alot of you I am obviously at the 'root' of this drama episode, and while I disagree with a lot of your views, I still like you, I still like being a part of YT. This thread has really gone on way too long...Wabbit you should probably ask to close it (but only if you want too ;)) P.S. It is nice to see us agree on one thing....the Fur Guy being outta here  Have a Great Weekend! I have family visiting so gotta go clean  ...hope that was peaceful  |

LOL Yeah atleast we can agree on that!!! I also think that everyone has had a chance to voice their opinions and I will ask Admin to close this thread...I would NEVER have started it at all if I thought someone might choose to leave because of it.... I LOVE YT and EVERYONE here... I think you're a very good person TLC...and I can see your passion..NOTHING is wrong with that. Have a great weekend everyone!!!! |
I just wanted to say something else before this thread gets closed. YorkieTalk is a great place to learn, laugh, and make some of the greatest friends. We do get heated on some issues, but I will tell you this, if you have any problems or need prayers or support, YT'ers will be the first to be there! Just remember that with all families there will be some not to get along on things, you learn to avoid them and just keep your distance, but when the time comes and you are in need, they will be there first with a helping hand! I believe that and know that for a fact!:ghug: |
