| Hello and I'm a Newbie! Greetings Everyone! I'm Rachael and my family and I don't own a yorkie yet but I'm considering one as our new family member. Just over a month ago we lost our beloved cocker spaniels in a traffic accident and even though our hearts are still healing, I want to feel the love of a furry companion again. our cockers, Breeze and Jaxon were family members and so good with my daughter. The reason I'm considering a yorkie is because, I'd like a dog that I could take with us on trips and our daily errands. A dog that is loyal and will be an "alert dog" instead of a "watch dog". I know some people feel with young children yorkies aren't the most ideal, but since my daughter has had experience with a good portion of dogs since she was two I don't think she should have an issue. We are in GA and looking for a reputable breeder. I'd like to get an older puppy, rescue or retiring breeder/show dog. I'm also willing to travel by car to pick up our new addition if needed. Here's a pic of our cockers! |

| Hi! Welcome! I'm so sorry for your loss. You should find a lot of great info here. Look around on the different boards and post any questions you have. I look forward to hearing how your search goes and in seeing pictures of your new family member when you find him/her.

My goodness what pretty cockers they were, every bit as beautiful as Oprah's Sophie......I'm so sorry for your loss, but if anything can cheer you up, it's a yorkie. They are some real characters. Bless you for wanting a rescue or retired dog,. You are going to make a lot of friends and win a lot of hearts on this site. Welcome.

| Hey, I'm gonna dip in your business a little.....why not just get two, since you are used to that.

| Yup that's my daughter in the picture. Thanks on the compliments on my puppers! I love cockers and hope to own one again one day, but i don't think my heart could take it. Two is always better than one, but maybe later we'll add a second. |
