| Welcome aboard! I agree, this is a new Yorkie owners lifesaver! You can vent, share your joy, ask questions on any subject (and no there are NO stupid questions here) and make some very special friendships. I have considered natures recipe... anyone tried this, or can they recommend this? Nice to see your most adorable baby! Keep posting pictures, we just love to look at all the special babies on here. Also, FYI: we are doing a Christmas card exchange this year-deadline for sign up is Nov. 30th (I believe) search for the forum and sign up if you wish, each member is only asked to send out five cards. This is my first time, but I just cant wait to see all the beautiful cards to come...

| I am a big fan of Nature's Recipe for toy dogs. Why? becuase my yorkies like it, it has never made them sick, and most importantly, the ingredients are all healthy. I'm sure there are many premium brands that are made from healthy ingredients but I like the idea that its supposed to be easy to digest since my first yorkie developed a Canine IBS kind of condition and could only eat Canine ID (usually given for diareaha) for the last 5 years of his life. I also prefer chicken to beef, since I don't like the idea of killing mamals for food (for me or my pets). ![]() Most importantly dont get a food that has "by products." Check the ingredients, here is the Science Diet you were using for example, in this case for adults: Science Diet Canine Large Breed Adult Dog Food - Food Center - Dog - PetSmart If you don't know what a "by product" is, feel free to google it yourself and be prepared to be grossed out - why would anyone feed their fur baby garbage like that? ![]() Out yorkies have always slept in our bed, but they were a bit older, like 12 weeks when that started. Once you do that, there is no going back. I am not so sure its a good idea for everyone. I do like it, but our ms Daisy fell off once, and now we keep a doubled over comforter next to the bed where she sleeps next to us so there would be a soft landing if she were to fall again. I am not worried about roll over accident, it has just never happened in 17 years of yorkies, but that's not so say that it could not be a problem with some people who sleep differently. Good luck! ![]() |

Cows are mammals.Congratulations on your new baby! She is quite cute and is obviously loved. Most vets know very little about pet nutrition so I wouldn't go with what they reccommend. At my last visit my vet asked what food I fed my Rottie and I thought "Oh boy here we go!" I was surprised when she seem interested in the food I chose and asked where I got it. She couldn't believe how shiny his coat was. | |

| OK I had a brain fart. I thought you said you prefer chicken or beef, sorry about that. I can't seem to edit my post for some reason. |
