To me he looks like a young black and tan. The head has not cleared yet as you can see the thumb prints up by the ears and the nose has a long way to go and may never clear or could take years to clear.

Gracie Ruth and Yogi's Papa I believe would be considered Black and Gold. I love his color and am hoping like heck that Yogi takes after him. Gracie takes after her Mama and has a lot of silver.

My Roxie is still real dark on her head at 13 months. I have a feeling she may not clear ever. Also her feet are a real light tan.

My Abby is Black and Gold. That's one of the reasons I chose her. As the breeder was sending pictures, Abby really stood out. I really like all the different colors on Yorkies, but my favorite is the darker color...of course I'm a bit biased since I have one

Roxie is a beauty! Abby's feet are a very light tan as well.

What does "clear" mean?

Awww, what a precious little guy! His gold is so dark, it's almost red...I personally love this coloring.

All the furbabies pics posted on this thread are gorgeous!!! I always said my next furbaby would be darker in color. If you have breeder recommendation can you please PM me. I'm just collecting some info right now so that in December once I convince DH I will be able to have the info on hand and bring home another furbaby.

I think it means to lighten up in color.

Example...my toy poodle was born a sable phantom and was suppose to eventually "clear" to an all cream, but she never did.

most yorkies are born black and tan, but most clear to a blue and tan..

some one please correct me if Im wrong..
