| Males Who Own Yorkies So how many males do we have on Yorkie Talk who actually own a yorkie (or more?) Yorkies are not traditionally considered a "guy dog" but I think guys with that attitude are missing out!! How do you guys feel about your Yorkie? Why did you get a yorkie? How many do you own? And what reaction do you get from others? |

| I own two. Like looks, size, & no shedding. Oh, and personality. No comment from guys, but lots of positive comments from the gals. Looking to add one more.

| I have three. I like the looks, personality, size, portability (I travel a lot and they do so well in the car), and NO SHEDDING! I have better things to do then worry about what others think.

| I am not a guy, but there is a guy in my neighborhood who has a yorkie. He runs with him everyday. Its nice to see men who don't care about what others think! My hubby doesnt care either, he will take Bobby anywhere with him. |

| Its funny cos I think yorkies are still seen as working mens dogs round where I live (same as Jack russels and Patterdales)! The vast majority of YT's I see are larger more robust with short hair and are walked by MEN! I get ALOT of comments/giggles and funny looks when I take Mika out in one of her many pink, girly coats!LOL! Maybe being so close to Yorkshire has something to do with it, they still cling on to their heritage here! I've never seen a YT with long hair and a ribbon in real life! Can you believe it?!! Imagine the comments I'll get when Mika has her full coat, ribbons and all!!!

I told him it was his chick magnet. I asked a few girls if they would come up to him and say oh what a cute dog and ask to pet it. They said they would esp. if the guy was interesting enough to take a second look. I asked girls 13-15 years old they told me that was lame and the guy trying it would be considered a nerd. I laughed and didn't tell my son. Thank goodness he likes the girls his age or a little older. | |

| I had a Yorkie when I got married and when my DH decided it was time for him to get his own dog he looked around at other breeds but then decided that a Yorkie was the right one for him. YEAH! He and Boo go everywhere. Now with Gracie he is even putting her hair up in coordinating scrunches & clips and doing a right fine job at it too!! He'll take them both out, Gracie all girliefied with her pink harness, leash and cute little hair bows. He's even put a little dress on her a few times. But then he's a sucker for babies and kids too. That's just one of the things I love about him.

| Man Dog, Yes I have to share this story, my husband did not want me to have a Yorkie at all. Well now my husband has a Yorkie that goes almost everywhere with him, work, stores, visiting. We live in a smaller community and Noah is very well known. |

| My guy was the reason we got a yorkie... I've always been a big dog person, and he had yorkies growing up. I wouldn't trade him for anything now, but people are always surprised that he was the yorkie lover. |

| My boyfriend loves both of our boys! He loves their dispositions and of course, the fact that they don't shed doesn't hurt! He will walk them, take them on car rides, and get down on the floor and wrestle with 'em. He doesn't like it when I dress them [go figure] but I still do it-haha. He has a playful relationship with both of them..and he tried to make them macho dogs-but they are mama's boys deep down...they know who to find when they want to snuggle or have their bellies rubbed

| Married Male I am a married male and have a 6 month old female Yorkie. It was all my doing having to talk my wife into agreeing into getting a puppy. I'm retired while she works so our Lola spends the whole day with me. I had dobermans in the past but getting older and living in a condo now we needed a smaller dog.I named her Lola because whatever Lola wants Lola gets like the song. I'm the one that puts the pink harness on her and the pink sweaters and am never embarrassed about taking her anywhere, she usually draws a crowd. |
