| Spay and potty issue?! Pita was just spayed on Wednesday. That seems to be healing fine but since I brought her home she has decided that she is no longer paper trained. Now she just squats and goes wherever she pleases! I've caught her in the act and told her no and put her on the paper, but she just looks at me and won't go. I'm so frustrated why would she do that and how do I fix it? She is five months old. Before the spay she was 98% trained and now she is like 0%. Help!! |

| She is probably just hurting and really doesn't want to move around too much...I bet she comes around soon!..Just reinforce her training with more of what you did when you first got her....She won't do this forever!

| There could be a couple things going on here. I wouldn't be too quick to correct her in case it is something she can't control. It might just be that she is healing from the surgery and out of it. She could have a urinary tract infection. I would have the vet check her urine. She could be incontinent now because of the spay. It can happen but is unlikely. If it continues for a long time, this is something you might want to look into.

| I've found that with Yorkies sometimes it's two steps forward and one step back! Don't get disheartened it's common especially after something traumatic....she'll pick it back up.

| My yorkie, Tiffany, was spayed this past Wednesday too. And she has been having little accidents that she hasn't had in awhile. She just peed on my bed a little--she has never done that even when I first got her at 12 weeks... I guess maybe she's just not feeling well...I'm hoping it'll get back to normal soon. |
