:animal-paOMGosh! My neighbor just told me where I can get a 6 month old yorkie w/papers for 200 bucks! I am dying here cuz hubby wont let me get it. The owner MUST give it up and I want it sooo bad I am about ready to just go get it and THEN face the music...LOL:aimeeyork

good luck! I say go for it. Hopefully your hubby wont be too mad! But they are so worth it.

I've always brought the pet home then hubby met it when he got home from work. He used to complain till I brought home a pot bellied pig. Now if I bring home a cat or dog he's relieved! :aimeeyork

I would totally get the puppy and then deal with the hubby later. Thats what I did with my yorkie. I had just moved in with my fiance, our first apt. I called him up and said what would you do if i come home with a puppy and he was like "WHYYYYYY?" and the next thing you know that same day later i came home with Cookie and he fell in live with her right away, hehe.

LOL that's what I meant!!! Whenever I tell my husband I am going to go look at a puppy he says might as well take the money because you know you are coming home with one!!!

That's how I got Izzy...I went to just "look" at her and then brought her home while hubby was golfing. He came home and this little furbutt runs up to him and that was it. He was in total love with her!

I would love to come across a deal like that but I would have to turn it down. I couldn't stand the war that would break out in our house! Honestly I thought we were going to get a divorce over my cockatiel. I finally had to give it to my son because dh was being so mean about it!

Go check the dog out first. See if he/she is a mix or not (you'd be surprised how many mixes are AKC registered) check out health records, then if the dog is exactly what you would like, ask the owner if you could have it checked out with your Vet. before you buy it.

Good advice Yorkiedaze...I will check on him tomorrow . If i cant get him I will let you all know and I will post the info on here in case a YT can take him. BTW...it IS a male 6 months old. And he is in Seaford,Delaware.

Yep...Make a deal!!

When DH and I moved to the acreage here: that was the deal. He got a 6 car garage and I got the 6 Greyhounds. He gets a new toy for the garage..
(1955 olds rocket..16,000 original miles and original title:) New pup!! I love my hubby!! and I love the fact that I know his weeknesses as well as he knows mine!! :D

I wouldn't just get him without both people wanting him. The ask for forgiveness later theory doesn't really do well for marriages IMO. If I pulled a stunt like that we certainly wouldn't be keeping the pup. Same would go if Matt did something like that with something that we hadn't agreed on. I just don't think that is the way to go about getting him. Maybe ask if the two of you can just go LOOK at him... maybe he will give in when he sees how cute he is. He may just fall in love :)

If you get him with him saying no, he may end up resenting the pup, which is something you certainly don't want.

I think it really depends on the husband. My husband is not the barbaric type. Typically, if I want something that badly, he lets me get it. I am not a spoiled wife by any means, we don't have a ton of money. However, if my husband knows that I really love something, he is not one to put his foot down. He's my husband not my dad.
It took me a couple months of "favors" ;) after I got Lilly to own up to my end of the deal :D Plus my husband is sucker for a cute widdle puppy face.
