You should look into the rules and regulations of your area. You will most likely need insurance and an operating license (so that the city can come by and check to make sure that everything is safe for the dogs). You would also need to get your name patented (i'm sorry it's really early---whatever the word is). You would need to make sure that your business' assets and costs are separate from your personal ones, for tax purposes. If you require outside funding/investments, it would be good to write a business plan (I think that it is good either way... it is a good way to determine cash inflows and outflows)... umm... you need to come up with a marketing plan. These are only a few suggesttions...I'm sure there is much more you need to do. I have taken a lot of entrepreneur classes...

How about Daisy's Doggie Daycare? Let me know if you have any questions--- I have never started my own business...but like i said, I've taken classes. I'm thinking of starting my own business next year---if I can think of an idea.

Thanks all for the great suggestions and names! I should clarify its more dog sitting operation than a daycare. I think there is a BIG difference in the two. I won't have more than 5 babies at a time. There was so cute and funny names given by you guys! Doin' It Doggie Style Doggy Daze Spoiled Pups Sit, Stay & Play Daisy's Doggie Daycare La Petite Doggie Daycare Wet Blanket- DogCare You guys are funny! I think its more fun thinking of the name. Im starting off small, maybe someday big I already have a few people lined up for me to get this going. My breeder is the one referring to me, how nice is he?

I like this one: La Petite Doggie Daycare except, I'd probably go one step further: La Petite Chien Dogsitting service. You should consider daycare though. I'd send my dogs on a regular basis to a daycare, if I could trust the person.

You will have to get a kennel license. You will need to make sure that you have a filing system to keep track of dogs vax records. Keep a file with dogs photos. Determine if you will be providing the food or if the owners bring the food. I'll be back
