Lost DOG ??? Should I wait a little Longer ??? Hi, I live in ny and I let my Dog silk :animal36 run in my "Fenced :animal36 IN" Back Yard in the Every morning from 6:45a to 7a in the morning he uses the bathroom and romp out there with my Cat and they both are let back in the house to have breakfast before I go to work ... This is 'AN EVERYDAY" routine ..... This morning I let my doggie Silk out as usually and when I went to let him in he was not there .. He usually waits right by the door for me to let him in (NO I DONT HAVE A DOGGIE DOOR.. But he is great about it .. I called him and then after 5min of waiting I went out to the Yard and no silk ??? I looked in the neighbors yard no silk ... it is now 6:26p and Silk is still not here .. he is microchiped and has a collar on ... What should I do :confused: ?? I love my dog so much :( ??? He is a great dog ??? I walked around my building looking for him ? he is 9months old well trained and is sooo nice .. I am very upset :mad: .. if you can give me any advice please do ... it welcommed .. |
Oh my goodness!! My heart is going out to you. I could not imagine coco being gone. You do live in NY and so do I so you know what can happen in this city. Have you given any consideration that someone has stolen him? Especially if you do this everyday he knows the routine. Is microchipping something like a lo jack where they can pinpoint where the dog is? If so I would have them find him ASAP like RIGHT NOW before he gets too far and they can't pick up the signal. I'm so sorry this happened to you. Yorkies are in such high demand that some people will do anything to have one. I doubt if he just ran away someone would just bring him back. Not everyone especially in NY has that kind of heart. |
Oh my gosh.....my heart goes out to you! I can't imagine what you are going through but get the word out and fast that he is missing. Call local animal shelters, area vet clinics and anyone else that will listen and then hang posters. This is not only terrible but frightening too. It's sad to say but I think someone took your dog. |
Start making phone calls. Call local shelters, vets, etc. Call anyone and everyone. Make flyers, put an ad in the paper. Hopefully you will find your baby soon! |

I'd say DON'T WAIT. Get on it right away. Make the necessary calls and start checking the neighborhood. I pray you find Silk very quickly. Please keep us posted! |
my puppy Hi, I think someone took him TOO my neighbr upstairs from me sometimes lets silk in or sit on her porch and plays with my dog .. she is not home .. we both share the same yard.. I am confused ?. Thank you all for kind words I have also posted on another site craigslist it local to my area .. |

You need to get posters out with Silk's name and photo! A lot of people will keep him even if they know he is yours. However, there will be others who find out and will want to contact you. |
Did you find him? I hope so . I hate to think that someone took him or he got out and he is lost and alone. Yorkies are the most often stolen dog. Please let us know. :( |
.... My puppy Hello again all .. still no answer at my neighbors... I called avid microchip co. they have put an alert out for my dog ... if someone takes him to the vet or a shelter it will pull up my name and say that silk was reported stolen .. I will file a police report in a little while my BF is on his way home to go with me .. I am so upset.. :( |

I am so sorry to hear about this. My heart is breaking for you. I would go over to the neighbor's house and try to see if you can hear him inside. I'm sorry to say that it sounds like he was stolen. Hopefully everything will work out in the end. I will be thinking about you! |
I sure hope your find him. My neighbor lost her small dog to a hawk,so I try not to let mine out even in their own yard without me, but I can't honestly say I haven't let them out for a quick potty time. It's so easy to believe they will be fine for just a second. I am praying for you both. |
OMG - I'd be all over the place looking - GOOD LUCK and I hope you find Silk - many dogs are getting stolen these days...not to scare you but it's a terrible world out there now - I REALLY hope one of your neighbors has him or he did get out... but someone nice has him - I would put flyers up in places your neighbors would be sure to see... OMGosh! When I first saw the subject line I thought you had probably found a lost dog...now I wish it had been that! I feel so bad for you and Silk and will be praying for a positive outcome...that Silk is reunited with you, happy and healthy! Hugs to you...best wishes in your search for him!!! |
Oh NOOOOOOO! Oh NOOOOOOO! I hope you fund your bebe! How horrible! I know how you feel. I thought I lost Pea 2 days after I got her. We were having more wood floors put in and she vanished! I thought she went out with me to get the mail. I was histerical!!! Crying like a baby! You poor lady. I do hope you kind your baby. :( Just to let some of you know there are GPF's for dogs now. Do Not Wait!!! Don't wait another nano-second!!! Go door to door and hand out flyers with his picture on them. Call the animal control people. Walk up and down the street where you live calling his name!! It might be that someone has him and doesn't know what to do. It might be that if he's inside someones house and hears your voice, he'll bark, or yip or something. Keep your ears and eyes open! Hopefully, if someone does have him, they will take him to the nearest vet to see if there is a chip. Call your vet and tell him. Call all the neighorhood vets and give them any information you can. Just seen this thread and my heart is so sad for you. My friend lost her doggy (yorkie/pom mix) and would not stop searching for her. She ended up finding him 4 days later at a park with a little boy when taking her friend home from work. They little boy said that his older brother came home with him and that he found him wondering the streets. Which was far from the truth. The only place he would be alone was in thier inclosed backyard. They had a doggy door and he would come in and out as he pleased. So this guy had to open the gate and get him. Don't give up searching. Some one had to have seen something. Good luck and please keep us posted! |
I am sorry to hear your baby is lost. A long time ago we had a jack russel puppy ans someone stole her out of our fenced back yard. I was sooo upset! I made flyers with her picture on it and put them up everywhere. 7-11s gas stations grocery stores, bank machines....just everywhere. I put in huge lettering $$REWARD$$ and honestly after a week really thought we would never see her again. Guess what some guy was at Chevron and saw my flyer and turned in his friends girlfriend. He told me where she lived I went there and she wasnt home but went by her door and called Sugar and heard her crying. So I waited for the girl to come home when she did she totally denied she had her even after I told her I could hear her. I gave a few threats (nope I didnt just admit that...lol) and she finally opened her house door and Sugar came running out. I couldnt believe we got her back. I think if it werent for the reward we wouldve never got her back. I guess money will make someone talk. Its worth a shot I was sure glad I did it. I hope itll work for you too. |
Posters and Rewards OMG You must be heartbroken... I am so sorry to hear he is gone.. When I lost a dog a couple of years ago, friend was taking care of him while I was on holiday and let him out without a leash despite instructions not to, I posted over 100 lost posters put them in each and every business in my town and the neighboring town that would let me and went door to door leaving them with the houses if the people were not in I left the poster in between the screen doors or in their post box. By the end of the first day I got him back. You should do this right away after contacting the police, all the vets and the shelters. Good luck finding your Silk and keep us up to date. |
