I've only seen one poor little unkept & haggard Yorkie and that was today sitting on the shelf in Toys R Us. My husband even felt sorry for it and was trying to fix it's hair

I think all of the pictures that I have seen so far are all beautiful. Who cares what anyone else things. You can have a little one with a rotten disposition that will try to rip your arm off. I agree that as long as it is a well behaved Yorkie with some of the problems that I have read about...you are lucky.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...I love Yorkies...and no I haven't seen an unattractive one yet. Winston has his moments, the little junk yard dog...but when I really look into those eyes, all I see is beauty...under all that unkempt hair, of course!!!
Buddy is special...he's yours, and I think he is adorable, and the fact that he's well mannered and trained makes him more adorable then ever!!! Lucky you...lucky Buddy.

Same thing here, Cooper gets all the compliments, because he is smaller. Baxter is the truly beautiful one though. Mommy's red fox!

Starsky gets this all the time. People always comment on Shylah, how cute and small she is. Only she is not a real people person dog, she runs away. She won't let anyone hold her. Starsky on the other hand loves attention and loves to be with people. I hate it when they think Starsky is Shylah's dad. They are no way related. They do look some what alike. The question I hate most is "Are you sure he is a pure Yorkie?" Just cause he is on the bigger side. Starsky weighs around 11 lbs and Shylah is a little over 4 lbs. I think Buddy is precious. There is just more to love and less to worry about!!!

You're way too harsh. This is why I never know what to post on this forum. I have confidence in myself and my Buddy. I WOULDN'T TRADE HIM EVER! Geesh it's like walking on eggshells when you post here.

I've never seen an ugly yorkie. Their faces and personalities just captivate me, regardless of size.

I think the reason people often comment on smaller yorkies (eg that fit in the purse-like carriers) is that the size makes people think of them as puppies. You know how we ooh and ahh over infants? perhaps a little less so over toddlers, and less so over school age kinds? i'm personally nuts about all kids, but there's something about the seemingly helpless little baby or tiny pup that makes people more vocal about cuteness. That's just my theory. I really think Buddy's adorable. Tinkerbelle, it's clear that you love him very much and I hope you stay here b/c you have a lot to offer YT and YT has a lot to offer you too.

i think that's a good theory. milu is really small, and people comment on her cuteness, but i very often get asked if she is a puppy. so i think you are right about why people would comment more about that with small dogs. good job!

look at all the love you are getting here, how can you be afraid to post here?

i think everyone has good intentions that post responses, it's easy to misunderstand the tone sometimes, or misunderstand this and that. it's not a big deal. keep posting!
