I think the reason people often comment on smaller yorkies (eg that fit in the purse-like carriers) is that the size makes people think of them as puppies. You know how we ooh and ahh over infants? perhaps a little less so over toddlers, and less so over school age kinds? i'm personally nuts about all kids, but there's something about the seemingly helpless little baby or tiny pup that makes people more vocal about cuteness. That's just my theory. I really think Buddy's adorable. i think that's a good theory. milu is really small, and people comment on her cuteness, but i very often get asked if she is a puppy. so i think you are right about why people would comment more about that with small dogs. good job!
