Food vs stool eating question

ok i've read on here about digestion and other reasons that these dogs sometimes eat their own poop at times. It said sometimes you need to change their food Sooo
Tell me what you feed your dog if he/she doesn't eat it or has never had the desire to mess with their poop. I hate this subject Just trying to figure out how to stop it......it's getting old

I feed mine California Natural Lamb & Rice and we have no problems. For snacks they get green beans, carrots either cooked or raw, apple, banana, treats from the dog bakery...I also give them a small amount of cottage cheese with their dinner and sometimes a small bite or two of chicken breast or roast beef.

I was watching 'It's Me or The Dog' a couple of weeks ago and she told one girl that a high protein food was the culprit...it's just as appealing to them afterwards as it is before they eat it. I don't know if there's any truth to that though. I've also heard you can use pineapple with their food and that's supposed to stop the habit.

I dont know what to say, I have had several yorkies and only one that I bought when she was about a year and half old ate poop. That was why the owner wanted to find her a new home. She sent Deter home with her when I got her. She ony did it twice here so I really dont know why she stopped unless it was the food, or maybe she was out of being confined thru the day, who knows.... I do keep dry out all the time, and they get Cesar canine cuisine. I know it is bad for them but I cant help it, they love it. They dont get lots of it, I split it up. And I have never had a dog get sick from Cesar. Once the female I got started on cesar and the dry she never ate her poop again. I just dont know if its the meat in the wet dogfood or what. But none of my yorkies I have ever raised ate their poop. But I do think once they start , it soon becomes a habit. Maybe try a raw diet? More meat.

puppies eating poop is a very common thing- best thing for this?!?!? Fresh Pineapple- tastes yummy, tastes NASTY when they eat it! Try it! It works!

ok, i just re read that, i meant to say when they eat it its yummy, but when it comes out its very nasty and it will deter them from wanting to eat their poopy!

I have a lab who eats poop and always has. We've tried literally EVERYTHING. The ONE and ONLY thing that TRULY works is following him outside, waiting on him to go to the bathroom, and then picking it up right when he goes so it's not there for him to eat. So, from an expert on poop eating, take my advice and just pick up the poop and keep your yard clean. Some of those supplements are very unhealthy.

he won't eat pineapple.........we've done tried it.
