| Anyone take their dogs to work? Just curious if anyone takes there dogs to work with them? I feel horrible sitting at work knowing that she's at home in the kennel all day! I run a tanning salon and it's easy enough for me to bring her to work with me and put her behind the desk. I absolutely love bringing her with me, but if i have to leave the front desk to use the restroom or clean a bed she goes crazy trying to get to me and starts barking. I'm afraid when it starts to get into the busy season i won't be able to bring her because of her barking.... How does it go over with everyone else? What kinds of jobs do you take your dog with to? Is your dog a distraction? Do customers mind? |

| There's a MailBoxes, Etc. near home that has a resident Yorkie. A tiny little thing ... she has a bed on the counter. Whenever anyone comes in the store, she trots to the end of the counter to say Hello. She's spoiled rotten. You have a tanning salon; do you have a health code you need to adhere to? That may prevent you from taking the pup to work with you. I work by myself most of the time, and there's very little walk-in traffic (deliveries, mostly). I can lock the door and make them knock, or I can put a gate across the entry. But I don't bring the pups with me. I don't/can't bring both of them, and the one that didn't go would really pine for the other. So they both stay at home to keep each other company - and to greet me exuberantly when I walk in the door . I miss them, but if they started barking when I was on the phone, I'd have a lot to explain. |

| Bella gets all dressed up every day and goes with me to work. She never goes naked. She has a playpen in my office where she stays most of the day. She has a lot of visitors that come get her out and play with her. She's so good, she never barks, only whines a little bit when she needs to go potty, or just wants to be held! I work with defense attorneys. They call her our therapy dog. It's good for their blood pressure to come visit with Bella.

| Edie went to work with me every day for about 5 years. Then I moved, and was not able to take her to my new job. I thought it was wonderful having her around, and so did my co-workers. Every now and then she got a little loud, but for the most part, it was a positive experience. Does anyone here work for amazon.com? They allow dogs in the workplace. Actually, they ENCOURAGE it. |

| I brought Zoe with me the first week and that was it. I brought her in with me today after I went to let her out because she is sick and has me a bit worried. She is sleeping on her bed right now while I work. Gotta love it.

| I worked at a salon where I brought Harley to work with me everyday. Everyone loved it - especially the clients who would bring him a never ending supply of treats, toys and laps to snuggle on. Your baby will thank you! |

YT 500 Club Member | Sophie has come to work with me occasionally, and she does come when she is sick. However, even though she likes to sleep on our bed at home all day, she gets bored at work and wants to go home. I have a big comfy couch in my office and a nice chair, but she wants to go outdoors and chase the bunnies and squirrels that are in the yard.

| Our dogs are shop dogs. My first Yorkie came to work with my mom everyday for most of her life. We trained her not to bark and that when we have clients in the shop she had to stay in the back. She was a gem! The clients loved her! We recently got our new babies. My mom and I know work together so we both bring the babies to work with us. We are in the training process, but so far so good. Soon my mom will be retiring and it will be just me and Strawberry at the shop. Unless mom and Strawberry's sister, Peachu, come to visit! Hehe! I am lucky. It is our business so we can do what we please as long as the landlord approves it and we have it in our lease that we can have small dogs as long as we clean up after them (they go outside) and they don't bark or enter any other part of the building!
