I wouldn't worry about this either, just because they lift their leg, it doesn't mean marking will occur. Joey lifts his leg, but never marks in the house, we did get him neutered around 6 months, and this does more to prevent marking than anything. Lifting the leg probably has something to do with the hormone testosterone, and while most testosterone, is made by the testicles, the adrenal glands make some in both males and females, and the amount varies greatly between individual dogs.

| Remi does both and even if he thought about marking(he's neutered), he couldn't because he is a dribbler and it just sorta drops straight down - no squirt in my little guy .

| I was told that if the male puppy is neutered about 4 months old he will continue to squat. Sounds good to me. |

| Meeko will be a year next weekend and he still squats. I'm glad he still squats. It can be annoying when his pee runs into his front paw but it's way better than the chance of marking.

| Alfie squats to pee, but will lift his leg up on walks and at the dog park to mark territory. It makes no sense to me. |

| I still don't have a male dog yet. I take my females to be bred at my breeders home. I want one but the marking is what I'm not looking forward to.....how funny to read all these posts. Of course I won't be able to have this one neutered so I will have a marker and a leg lifter and not sure I like that.

| Squirt is 12 years old, and not neutered. He is a leg lifter, but does not mark inside the house. He does do more than his share of marking outdoors. Makes for long (timewise) walks. |
