i wish i knew the words to make you feel better right now, but i don't...
please take care of yourself, and do what you need to to feel better, and talk to us if it helps you. (i usually just completely ignore the stuff that's too painful to deal with, and deal with it little bits at a time later on in manageable doses)

Thank you all!!

I am doing a little better today. I find that if I think about how lucky we were to have him, and what a blessing he was to be in our lives I can get through the day a little easier. I never thought I would miss picking up 50 toys a day off the floor, but man I wish the livingroom was full of them.

My fiance bought a little headstone with his picture engraved in it and we are making a little butterly

garden in the spring around his little resting spot. He tries to be strong, but I have found him breaking down when he is by himself.

None of us can stand how quiet it is around here. I listen so intently for those little pitter patter of paws

, and I still look for him when I come home from work. He used to run to the door and just get so excited..shaking his little nub. I would pick him up and say "Hi, Big Boy" and he would give me tons of puppy kisses. This was our ritual everyday!! I come home now and it is just silence. I have two boys 17 and 19, and they said that they can't stand walking into the house either and they can't remember what life was like before him.

With that being said: We all as a family, have decided to celebrate our little Cooper. There are so many puppies out there that would love to be as spoiled and have the life that Cooper had. We have so much love left to give, and our hearts are not complete without a little one running around... we have decided to get, not one, but two new yorkies. I always wanted a playmate for Cooper, but could never take that final step. When we find the right ones, they can play with him in the backyard forever

To my little Cooper:
Even though the pain is unbearable that you are not here, I would go through it 1,000 times, just to have the time we had with you. You made me happier than I ever could have imagined and showed me a love that I never thought I would know. Rest in peace my little angel...Mommy will see you again!!!! I promise!

I just read your post today where you decided to get two more Yorkies in honor of Cooper, how wonderful and such an appropriate step to move beyond the pain and take in two more helpless living creatures (gifts) from God. I cried when I read your message to Cooper. Because these dogs are helpless and totally dependent on us, I believe that God has a special reward for those who take care of his gifts. You'll be doubly rewarded with your new babies. Please keep us posted.

I know at this time nothing seems like it will ever get better, your heart and mind are so full of grief but time will help ease the pain you now feel. Thinking of you at this time hoping you heart will heal.

i am so happy to hear that you are feeling better, and i am so happy that you decided to get 2 yorkies. (even though everytime i read things you write about cooper, it breaks my heart and brings tears to my eyes) i am happy though that you are feeling better!

I just joined and this is my first post. I am so sorry for the loss of your precious baby. My name, misnlexie, is exactly what I am doing. My little doll died suddenly on Aug. 17 after a seizure. She was 5 years old, a beautiful, tiny 3lb angel who was always so healthy. We were devastated and I swore that I would never go through this sense of loss again. Like you, we miss her adorable face and unconditional love so much. Our house was also so empty. A week after Lexie died, my 16 and 18 year old talked me into just "looking" at some puppies. Well, we now have Tiffany and Toby and they have brought so much joy to our lives! They will never replace Lexie and I still cry for her, but we love our new babies so much. You are right to get two-they are a lot of work, but they will never be lonely! Good luck-you will find the perfect babies for you and the pain and loss your feel will be eased.

I am so sorry for your loss. It has been over a year now since I lost my Jackson, once in a while I catch myself smiling over a thought of him, but still cry. It does take time, and so much of it. My thoughts are with you, I wish there were more I could do or say. But just know he is watching over you, and you will be together again some day.
