| update on lila So this is Sessy, Lila's Mom. Lila is doing well. When my bf brought her home, she ran to me and was a ton of energy. I cooked her chicken and potatoes and she ate it all up! (The Vet told me she hadn't eaten a thing all weekend). So I'm glad that after all of this she's doing well. So to back track, here's what happened. Last sat. Lila and I hung out at the park all day long, and then we went to several dog stores. At one of them i brought her this organic grass since she loves to eat grass. On sunday, Lila was doing well. On Monday morning she started having diarrhea which got worse over the week. I didn't take her to the vet initially because she was a ball of energy and eating/drinking well. On friday night she had blood in her stools and was very cranky so I immedatialy took her to the vet. The vet tells me the stool studies were negative but because Lila had a fever (T=104.7) she would have to stay. They don't call me sat. or sunday to give me an update and of course they're closed so no one answers the phone when I call. My bf calls today at 9am and they tell him Lila had a rough weekend, not eating and continuing to have diarrhea. The vet tells him she thinks its either a virus or maybe cholecystitis! Lila was on IV fluids and flagyl with some improvement. He tells the vet he wants to pick her up to get a 2nd opinion and that's when the vet tells hims if he leaves not to return. Then they get into a discussion of how she's seen boyfriends come and go and she doesn't care if he is my bf that the dog belongs to me and she didn't want to deal with him! So I call the vet and she basically tells me that lila had a rough weekend and that dog is doing much better and to have him come get her at 4pm today. She doesn't mention anything about gall bladder disease (partially because she knows I'm a doctor so I would know better). So for some basic blood work and a stay at the vet's I paid $675. The vet even went so far to say that there was another test she wanted to get but didnt because it was too expensive at $45! Could you believe that! I don't care about the money because I love my dog and would do anythign for her, but I think the vet was bulls**tting around because all of lila's labs were normal.

| This vet sounds terrible. Run and hide. I don't know where you live in Jersey but I use to live in Staten Island and the vet I use there was located on New Dorp Lane, between Amboy-Richmond and Hylan Blvd. They were fantastic. Anyway, I don't know about any other yorkies but mine get diarrhea from time to time. I use to worry and run to the vet, but now I know that it is normal for my bunch. And most dogs when they are away from their owners/home will refuse to eat, anybody knows that.

| I am so very glad that little Lila is doing better. You have a jewel of a BF to have been so worried about your little furdaughter to hop on YT and post away. Give that dude a hug!! I would be in the market for a new vet - find one you are comfortable with BEFORE you have another crisis. It seems like with Yorkies there is always a crisis waiting to happen. I agree with the previous poster, troubletb, my guys get diahrrea every once in a while - before I panic and run to Dr. Amy, I let their stomach rest, feed bland food and make sure they stay hydrated. If my instinct tells me that something is wrong, then off we go - most of the time these little stomach upsets pass and we are back to normal in no time at all. |

| I am so happy that you picked your baby up from that vet. I, personally, hope that you all can find a good vet that you can trust! My wonderful vet feels that the best medicine, in most cases, is "Mommy's lap"!! Sometimes their little tummies will get upset but sounds like in your babies' case ... I think she missed her "humans"! Hope she is much better now. Please keep us updated.

| Princess Lila vet tests You should get a copy of her lab tests for your records - they should give you a complete copy of all the blood tests and anything else they have. If you were to have a similar emergency you would have something to check it against. You paid for all of this and shouldn't have any trouble getting it. Karen |
