You knew you would be in a place around other animals where your dog might mark or have an accident...or at least you should have assumed it could happen. Why didn't you use a belly band? Why should the responsibility only be placed on the booth owner? Sure, he could have done things differently by placing his items on a shelf or something but a stroller is a big item. Maybe he could place a short fence or x-pen around those things the next time and maybe you could use a belly band...then there would be no accident to deal with. To take the stance of 'it's a dog and things will happen' is just wrong in my opinion...why should the booth owners have to just take whatever gets dished out? I think, we as pet owners, have the responsibility to take all precausions to ensure our pets are well behaved in public...I would not take my male anywhere like that without a belly band...boys just can't be trusted 100%.


Not trying to start an argument here but I just don't feel this should only rest on the booth owner.

I have a female, but I never thought of using the belly band for anything other than housebreaking a male. Maybe people/dogs would be a little put off to have their dogs wear them in public. If this is a serious issue at the dog expos maybe they should require all dogs be kept on a leash and all males wear a belly band, and state that on the flyers, etc so people know ahead of time what is expected of them and their pet. I don't know how many people would think to do this without the suggestion honestly.

I ran into someone there I know, and he thought "he was just scamming for $, and after he got it he still will try to sell that one". I agree with him. There were a lot of people just walking around and/or watching the dog show that they were putting on. So, do you need a drill press or know anyone whom does~? I am dealing with the lost of my Dad and am trying to liquidate everything. That is another reason I went to the dog expo, to connect with people whom may need what I have for sale.

He told me "do what you think is best". I kind of slowly walked away trying to call a couple of guys to ask them. I asked telling one of the people that was working there about the incident. She told me that there are numerous of workers at the event and to find one of them. I did and long story short we went over to the man, whom wasn't there. He finally came back and the woman offered to clean the stroller up with her cleaning product. He looked at it and said, "his wife is allergic to petroleum". We walked away. This sounded like crap to me as well as the woman whom had a booth of cleaning products. What do you all think~? I at least attempted to find what was the best thing to do, right~? I just didn't feel that he was trust worthy and just wanted a check from me.

He need to get out of the business of selling dog items if he thinks he's going to be around dogs without some mishaps he's crazy. He's lucky Maxwell left it at #1 and did not follow up with #2!! Don't worry about it , I think you did the right thing, he was in to make a quick buck, another dog probably already marked the stroller before Maxwell!! Tell Maxwell I said ""
