| i just don't know what to do. i'm scared for her life. lately, my sophie has gone into heat. she is about 9 months old. She has been starting fights between my female sheltie, she gets territorial. I know it's an alpha female thing, and the two are trying to fight for the rank, but my sheltie is 30 pounds, and sophie is 10. When they fight, they latch on so tight, and NOTHING seperates them. we have tried everything, and so far all we can do is each grab a dog and pull them away, which is dangerous because both my mother and I have been scratched or bitten in the process. It happened today, one of the worse fights i have seen them get into yet, and i was so frustrated i had to just cry. She is hurting herself, and i don't know what to do. Will fixing her solve this problem??? help!

| You are right to fear for her life. These two bitches need to be spayed as soon as possible and until then they need to be kept separated with a closed solid door between them. |

| I would like to add that my two females Chattie and Chizzie fight - they are kept separated 24/7. Chattie lives on one side of the house and Chizzie the other. Because they are comfortable with the arrangement baby gates separate them - but it took time to get to that point. |
